Ole Miss at night will be fricking rocking

If we both go into this game undefeated it will potentially be an all time atmosphere and it will be between us or OU-Texas for College Gameday. I love the revenge factor in this game.

Not too bad a setup to have a good home game slate this season. Only concerning flex would be UCLA in the afternoon in September.

While it would suck to have afternoon games against Bama and/or OU, it would at least occur after DST ends in November so both games will conclude when it's dark out. I know the biggest drawback would be tailgating for both those games. I feel like OU fans coming in for the game deserve to have the full day tailgating experience before we whoop their asses.

This is new because of the espn deal right? Having guaranteed home night games is very nice and the fact that none of the major games will be at 11 am has me super excited for the new era there

SEC no longer being with CBS means ESPN and ABC no longer have to wait for their games to be picked away from them.

Can you imagine UCLA fans enduring a day game in Tiger Stadium in September?

This is a great change. Having some idea of game times up front will make things much better for fans who are planning anything around football Saturdays.

I do wonder how many 2:30 PM games we will see each week now. Previously, there would never be more than one 2:30 SEC game since CBS had that exclusive window. I suspect that we will see more games fall into that window now. So we might have more 2:30 games each season (on average), but with a better idea of when they will fall and also with less AM games. I’ll take that trade.

We survived UAB November 2022 weather. Does that count?

There's a lot I don't like about being tied up with ESPN but having a rough idea of all game times in June is great.

Like what?

Hottest game I’ve been to in my life. That was miserable.

And coldest game that season vs Troy.

This information narrows the time schedule down only slightly.

My OU side of the family is coming down and they have always said Tiger Stadium doesn’t impress them on tv.

I’m praying it’s a night game and we are playing for something.

Selfishly complaining here....we went to the Texas 8&4 game last year thinking it would be a night game and it was an 11am kick...now, looking forward to the USCe game and it is a 12 EST kick....can I please get a night game?

There will still be some 2:30 home games, but likely not nearly as many as when CBS had the contract and declared 2:30 as their "prime" spot. First, ABC/ESPN have shown a tendency to make night games their "prime" games. Second, with the demise of the Pac 12, general irrelevance of the ACC, and watered-down version of the Big 12, the SEC is far and away ESPN/ABC's biggest draw. So expect the SEC to get prime billing at night. Particularly with the Big 10 deciding their marquee game of the week should be at Noon (ET) on Fox, and them not having a contract with ESPN/ABC.

I do feel a bit for Brad and Gary though. They go from calling the SEC marquee game to now having to hype up the #2 or #3 Big 10 game. "Welcome to Big 10 on CBS where we have a marquee matchup between Iowa and Illinois!"
