So you are vouching for a team that lost 30 games last year? Doesn't seem like their cohesiveness lead to many wins. I don't think you watched much of either one of them to be honest
I sure am vouching for a team with 30 losses. They had a rough stretch during the season, but made it to the playoffs and if you watched of their games in the Regionals, Supers and World Series, you would've seen arguably the hottest team in college baseball. The point is, they had leaders on that team that dug em from the ashes and convinced everybody that they could win it all keyboard warrior. We didn't have that.

A non-Top 25 team that is getting very interesting for me right now is Oklahoma.
I know they will be stepping up in competition by coming to the SEC, but they're going to have a good pitching staff and have some good bats coming in from JUCO.

That was the biggest missing component last season.
Leadership and you know we couldn’t hit and didn’t have a 3rd starting pitcher.

In the NIL era, it is all about how well your merc roster gels.

They were preseason #1 or #2 last year.
It depends upon the poll though. I saw them at 2 and 4. Regardless the point is they were even higher ranked the season before and won it all.

Of course it’s all somewhere between projection and wild guess but it would appear that we will be greatly improved over a team that facing elimination in regionals was left to start Thatcher Hurd and Sam Dutton as we were this year.
It also appears as if what will qualify as a reliable bullpen will consist of more than solely the 4 innings per weekend (typically after Jump left after 5) Herring provided this year.

I would have A&M and Tennessee 1 and 2.
A&M returns their whole team, why would they be 5?

They most definitely dont return their whole team, their lineup for most part yes, but they have major pitching questions they will have to answer. They lost all their top arms.

I get we have a lot of Question Marks but the difference between this year and last year is we have so many more options to provide the answers.
Last year we needed Kling, Pearson and Neal to show up, and when they didn’t we were playing a lot of Freshmen.
Last year we returned Pearson and Kling and brought in Bingham and then it was all freshmen and sophomores who had like 0-10 ABs
This year we return Pearson, Brown, Larson and Jay Brought in Stanford, Dalton and Schmidt as options and added Curiel who is a major prospect.
Bringing in Yasmin and Hernandez as DH options. Both have caught so that’s an option in a pinch

Do we get an award for that?
Posted on 7/24/24 at 12:37 pm to nicholastiger
Has he? I didn't see it officially announced unless I missed it. You would assume he would based on where he got drafted though.

What were we ranked last preseason?
#2 ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll
#2 Baseball America
#2 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association
#3 Perfect Game
#4 D1 Baseball

And in 2023
Baseball America #1
Collegiate Baseball #1
D1 Baseball #1
Baseball America #1
Perfect Game #1
ESPN/USA Today #1
NCBWA #1
Hopefully LSU is ranked #1 by everybody again.

Bc they don’t return their whole team and bc they lost the best coach they’ve ever had. It’s really not tough to understand.

Your same reasoning for UF applies to LSU as well.

I doubt you could name 2 players on that team besides Cags

We were ranked 2 last year. We see how that played out.
