I'll admit I'm a little bummed to see Fla and Bama not be annual opponents. But at the same time, we're still going to play them every other year, it's not like the old division format where we could go 6 years between playing certain teams and 12 years between playing at certain venues. And now we get to play UGA and Tenn more often as well which are usually big matchups we rarely got to see in the old format.

I'm assuming LSU/Arkansas will be back to rivalry week, and I'm hoping the Ole Miss game can get back to being on Halloween weekend like God intended. For A&M, before the first expansion in the 90s we used to frequently open the season against each other out of conference, maybe we can be each other's SEC opener every year to pay homage to that.

Are we the only founding member that has to play 2 other teams that aren't original members of the league?

About as good of a draw as LSU Could reasonably expect.

One bottom tier team

One time that has a long tradition of being bottom tier until recently

And a team that has money but is 3rd fiddle to Texas and OU

Wow they really leaned on geography I see.

Arky and Ole Miss make sense.

A&M does nothing for me. I wish they would've swung A&M over to Ole Miss and we take the annual OU match up. LSU-OU is interesting to me.

Every other year:

Bama / Georgia

Texas / Oklahoma

Florida / Auburn

Tennessee / Missouri

South Carolina / Kentucky

Mississippi State / Vandy

The next UF coach will definitely have an easy schedule to work with.

How is that any easier than what LSU got? At the moment Kentucky is weaker than Arkansas, but over the last 10-15 years they’ve been comparable or better. Georgia is obviously much tougher than LSU’s opponents and SC is in the same ballpark as A&M. The conference was obviously so desperate to force a permanent rivalry week opponent for LSU, that they have broke from the 2 top tier and 1 bottom tier for LSU and the opposite for Arkansas.

I’m shocked they gave us Arkansas instead of Oklahoma.

I never would have thought they would give us a group of permanent opponents that’s as easy as this.

Was hoping we’d have at least one out of Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama Auburn and Florida. This is pretty underwhelming.

Selfishly, we got by far the easiest draw of the big 6. Looking at our historical rivals, it’s absolute arse.

Once again traditions in college football fall.

We lose Florida and Alabama after Auburn and MSU. Bunch of pussies on this board celebrating this. Winning isn’t fun if it isn’t against your rivals.

Why is everyone here so scared of playing good teams. You get better by playing better teams. Cakewalking through the season is no way for college football to be. I want MORE big games. Not less. Good lord everybody.

This is fine with me. I would rather have to play Arkansas than Alabama every year.

So LSU is the only Big-6 school to not play at least 1 other Big-6 school annually…..horse shite bull shite crap schedule

This is such an outdated way to think about the SEC.

SEC win% since the 2012 expansion, with LSU’s new “permanent” opponents in bold:

Alabama - .877
Georgia - .802
LSU - .651
Florida - .575
Texas A&M - .538
Missouri - .491
Ole Miss - .472
Auburn - .462
South Carolina - .453
Tennessee - .425
Mississippi State - .406
Kentucky - .340
Arkansas - .255
Vanderbilt - .226

There are only 5 teams with a winning record in SEC play since the last expansion. Of those teams, the only ones to play each other annually under the new format are Georgia/Florida and LSU/A&M.

Auburn has been a dumpster fire for most of the past decade+. Tennessee has 3 seasons with a winning record in conference play since 2008. Even Florida has been rough in recent years; last time they finished >.500 in SEC play was 2020.

The Bama-Tennessee game has held back scheduling in this conference for 20 years now.

Held back? It’s the premier rivalry in this conference going back 100 years. College football is built on tradition. All of that is eroding quickly and it’s no surprise college football becomes less interesting every year basically since 2014.

Only awkward one is Vandy v Auburn. Had to force that one to make everything else work. Good job by league.

And yet, Auburn doesn't have a winning record against them either (22-22-1).
