re: Next year WR starters for us

Parker and AA.

Let's start with "can the guy catch a football and listen to basic instructions on how to play the position". I'm not concerned whether the guy can run a 3.9 if he's an imbecile.
Parker. He was actually balling while the rest the rest of the offense checked on their Google stock.
His lame press conferences.

"Look.." Look..." "Look, I mean..."

I was somewhat of a BK defender but eventually the team took on his persona. Phony and lacking substance.
No I don't think so. In fact, sounds crazy but I honestly think that would be a bad sign.

If CLK is coming in to implement a different kind of program, by necessity that will create turbulence.

I would like to see competence on offense in year one.

Looking for a CFP appearance in year two or even three. Competition is fierce.
Both things can be true. Kiffin was willing to coach. The timeline of this guy saying "no" is irrelevant. Kiffin playing 5D chess against this guy.
The vibe in the room was everyone was wondering what the fourth location was, and everyone was too embarrassed to just ask.
I wouldn't put it that way, but yeah this guy is an intellectual deep thinker and that puts him in a distinct category compared to our other hires last 20+ years.
Also, Garrett has had trouble stringing two sentences together. Must be a party in the studio.
Get rid of bums who can't catch and this team is instantly much better
I would settle for:

Competent, entertaining play
Never more than 3 losses in a season
Ranked top 15 about 80% of his tenure
3 CFP appearances over 6 years
1 natty

Kiffin will coach at LSU for about 6 years, win a couple nattys, then move an hour south to coach the Saints.
For me: unlimited.

This guy is hottest coaching commodity since Saban. And unlike Saban, he's personally open and transparent. Everyone knows what he can do.

Now the players need to compete. The players need to run routes, catch balls, block, and line up correctly. The HC can't do it all.
He doesn't compare with any previous hire.

This is a Bill Walsh type guy. Very zen.

Why? Because he tall? Height is one factor among many that contribute to a completed pass.

You know that tower they use at combines to measure vertical jump? That's a stationary object. Putting a ball in someone's hands involves about a dozen other variables.

Please stop.
Thank God for the Berry Ferry

He's not coming here.

Between LSU and Florida, it would make zero sense to come here. Florida football hasn't been worth anything for going on 20 years. He would have time there. They would probably give him 4 years to turn things around.

He knows LSU football is in a painful place right now and is moving off of a psychological cliff following 19/Burrow/Daniels and a couple of epic wins over Alabama. We want results tomorrow. All the hot yoga in the world will not stand up to the scrutiny and expectations he would have here.

In fact, his immediate issue would be living up to BK's first couple of years, which were actually relatively successful before everything went to shite this year. Bad scenario all around.
"Fit"? What the helll does that mean? Some of his staff hires were bad and many of his NIL/portal decisions were REALLY bad.

TE/WR room sunk this team. We will never know how bad Nuss and OL were because the TE/WR killed half the drive with drops, fumbles, penalties, bad routes, passive plays on the ball, etc.
Cowherd is not wrong on these points. But it's kind of beside the point.

LSU is a better gig than Ole Miss, on paper. That's what matters.

It really comes down to what Kiffin is looking for and what he thinks he can pull off. If he believes he's a better HC than BK (which he does believe, and which he certainly is), then he does believe he can walk into Baton Rouge and create a better culture and team.

On the other hand, he's not insane and he knows that with the current landscape he won't win 10 games a year, every year. So, it's really about getting to the CFP within the first two years and then getting back at least every third year...or else the monster will eat him too.

I personally think he wants to stay at Ole Miss for another couple years. But who knows what he's thinking. He's worked to reach this point and so he may want to take the plunge idk. I agree with Cowherd though, ultimately this is not the time for him to come to LSU.
