Looks like the LED light shows are coming to Tiger Stadium
I thought we were better than that.

The game of football has turned into a 3 ring circus.

Idk how. It sounds terrible
I posted a pretty tedious explanation in another thread, a couple of months ago. That explanation is here if you’re interested. The short version is this:
The stadium has a very high quality sound system, but the SEZ expansion completely fricked the acoustics of the stadium. The speakers themselves are not the issue. The issue is the placement of the speakers and how that placement interacts with the overall acoustics of the stadium.
Unfortunately, there’s likely no way to remedy the situation without completely redesigning the sound system from the ground up. Eventually they’ll probably have to switch from a point-source setup to a distributed setup (meaning speakers located throughout the stadium), which will be expensive and is somewhat difficult in an open-air stadium.

sound blasts out of the north end zone.
There's no dispersion. The tower in the south endzone used to have speakers that pointed in a semi-circle to catch the sides. Once the south ez was finished, I remember the first game with the new sound. It rattled everyone's teeth (including ours on the sidelines). I can't imagine what it sounded like in the south ez. Anyway, they turned it down, and since then you can hear Dan Borne, but you can't make out a single word he says. All bass and no mids and treble, because its all pointing straight to the south ez.

That is a CGI for video only. Not seen in stadium...

could care less about the lights.
either give me wifi, or boost at&T and Verizon in the stadium. It's irritating that i can't read the Rant during a game, but honestly all i want to do is see what's going on in other games, as well as see the stats from the LSU game.
Or you could actually post scores of other games, maybe some relevant stats of the game we are witnessing more than once in a while and not hidden only on the banner in the south endzone, and during commercial breaks maybe put some games of interest on the big screens. We have 3 screens. Put 3 games on.
Oh and a game of interest isn't South Carolina and fricking Vanderbilt, especially considering UGA and Tenn were finishing at that exact time you showed that stupid arse game on the big screen for the LSU/Bama game. You literally couldn't have picked a more worthless game to put on the screen. Liberty was beating Arkansas, Auburn and MSU were going into OT, but lets see what Vandy and USC are up to.

i hereby veto any led light shows in tiger stadium get off your own lawn. I'm over 40, and it is time to get with the times LSU. Add the damn LED lights. Keep up. Hell, its ok to trailblaze sometimes too. quote:ow let's move on to discussing food vendors good news, you can door dash applebees now that you are not gonna go to any games in the future
I’m under 30 so can I cancel out your support? The LED light thing is such an annoying fad. I’ve seen it at plenty of the visiting stadiums I go to. I’m here to watch a football game not see a Taylor Swift concert.

Great. The number1 venue in all of college sports is striving to be like all the rest.
It's insane

PLEASE TAKE THE ADS OFF THE 3 MAJOR SCREENS AND KEEP THEM JUST ON THE RIBBONS CIRCLING THE UPPER DECKS!!
Advertising Blocks are bigger than replay and real-time video. It’s Busch League.

I will laugh my arse off after they spend a poowaddle of cash on LEDs and nothing changes crowdwise... still leave early or not show up at all
I don’t get this. Laughing at who? And why?
Laughing at it doesn’t seem like a less shitty fan move than the ones that leave early or don’t sell/give their tickets to someone who will.

Stadiums that already have LED light shows will already be on the “next thing” by 2024
Way to go LSU

LED light shows are cool, but it's still a gimmick. Not opposed to it, but Tiger Stadium doesn't need a gimmick. We need our band to return to it's glory though.
Well said !

100% this. Inexcusable that you should have to decide if missing a quarter is worth going to the bathroom.

quote:I went to a concert in San Antonio this year at the AT&T Center. When I tell you that I was on the interstate within 8 minutes of reaching my car I'm not joking. They force you to stay in a single lane (physical barriers) all contra-flow out of the venue and it rolls. My group, all from Louisiana, were amazed at what could be done. So, yeah, I get your point but IT CAN BE BETTER.
When the decision is made to go the traffic that happens after is part of the package.

I think the light shows are a bad idea. What made Tiger Stadium great is the fans feeling like they are participating in the game, not just spectators watching a show. The LED light show is another step in that direction.

If we can get a 3D holographic tiger demolishing the other teams mascot with 100,000 fans cheering, then I am all for it. It will be like gladiator games during the Roman times.
