Kacy is an excellent back, but not worth what he is getting paid when LSU has other positions to fill like OL that are more important, especially when you have Berry already locked in and some good young RBs available or already signed.

He certainly a good player. But remember, he had 23 carries for 104 yards before transferring to OM. So if Kiffin's offense allowed one inexperienced, seldom used back to have a great season, why couldn't it happen again?

The RB position in the NFL has been devalued for reason (1) because the passing game has taken on more emphasis and (2) because the talent pool at RB is greater/deeper than many other position. In a world where players have to be paid now, coaches have to allocate their funds accordingly. If another school wants to pay above market value for a RB sometimes you just have to let it go.

No one is promised tomorrow. Particularly at a position like RB. That position has one of the shortest shelf-lives in the NFL. That's why a lot of those guys try to get the biggest contract they can ASAP because they know being "patient" isn't always a virtue.

There is a finite window for every player to make big money for playing football. If I'm a 20 year old kid and someone is offering me more money than many NFL RBs will make next season, I take it.

The only reason Ole Miss is keeping Lacy and Chambliss is they have no choice but to stay after OM upset Georgia. Teams are not going to wait around and miss out on other players with the small portal window in the hopes of landing them.

Wow, this is an absolutely incredible combination of cope and passive melt. True master piece!

Huge mistake by he and Chambliss. Their stocks won’t go up next year in a brand new offense and with an entirely new offensive staff. They saw the short term money grab and took it.

Yeah, that is it. Not anything else let alone it is hard to play QB or tote the rock when you don’t have an offensive line

You think he stayed OM because of Frank? lol

No, not at all. Frank Wilson 's role has been eliminated by NIL. I don't think he has any impact on recruiting whatsoever anymore. Any recruiting success or failures (whether that be Duhram, Lacy, Kyle Parker or anyone else) at Ole Miss has nothing at all to do with Wilson and only NIL structure and deals. It's obvious to me, Ole Miss simply must be paying more because connections don't matter anymore.

I know this because I read the rant.

Or they wanted to be loyal to the school where they've had that success? Is that not what the rant has been bitching about with everybody going in the portal? Or does that only work for LSU?

Frank Wilson is meaningless - The Rant

Are you implying Lacy would have signed with LSU had LSU kept Frank?

If the price was really around 2 mill, let them have him.. You have to build this roster around a "salary cap" type budget. Get the OL and a mid-tier back will turn into Lacy.

Wilson isn’t the reason Lacy is staying at Ole Miss

I’m neither coping nor melting…being realistic…the portal closes January 16th…if OM makes it to the final that is the 19th and they are granted a 5 day window from that date…they were not going to announce while they are in the middle of the playoffs they plan on entering the portal once their season ends and by the 16th teams would have pretty much have all the players they were needing filled…

Right we cannot sit around and wait on them in the hopes they will wait on us. That would cause us to miss out on other opportunities. So if you think about it OM did us a favor getting this out of the way even though it’s not what we wanted.

Again though their whole personality is that of our little brother. They are going to do everything in their power to try and take what we want, doesn’t matter how much they need to spend or how good it makes them next year. They want what we want. Jealousy is a disease and OM reeks of it

We need to spend $ on OL and DL. Indiana showing everyone what a great OL can do. Got to get some big guys on the front line and a dynamic QB. Thats what wins ‘ships.

IF Chambliss is granted another year if eligibilty to play next year...that will be it for him. There is no following year for him. Its hit the draft or FA.

There really is no defending Frank Wilson’s running back rotation, especially in that last ball game

We pretty much abandoned the run after the fumble and managed to score enough to win. I certainly didn’t come away from that game thinking the RB rotation was the primary issue

The actual verifiable fact is we ran the ball, particularly with our RBs way less than basically every competitive team throughout the season. That is a scheme issue that no rotation would be able to overcome, if you are looking to have a productive running game.

The hate that Wilson has gotten is one of the least rational takes to come from the rant. I imagine it is all based on fear that he would be the full time HC, which seemed evident from the jump would not be the case.

What a dumb take. Lacy met Frank a few weeks ago and he's developed such a relationship that Frank is the reason he's staying. Or maybe it's the 1.8 million he got offered. Our fan base are such chicken littles.
