What changed about LSU over last 20 games

Experience matters

Figuring out roles matters (has taken longer than you’d like the last 2 seasons). Can’t tell if this will be a Johnson trait or the nature of putting together teams with the he transfer portal

He seems like a decent guy but he is an ticky tacky coach and that’s annoying.

But he’s at Kentucky. it’s not exactly a powerhouse

That was the speech of a true class act in admiration of a competitor.

Strong disagree. He was the coach who called the wrong base to Hanover back in 2010 to score a Mississippi State run. Total bush league play. Unforgivable for me. You can believe what you want about him.

"Mainieri said the game tape clearly shows that Mangione moved "50-60 feet" down the right field line and stood behind Hanover yelling "2-2-2-2" as Hanover received a throw from rightfielder Mikie Mahtook. Mahtook had retrieved the ball after a double into the corner by Ryan Duffy in the sixth inning. That influenced Hanover to hesitate to look at second base before throwing home to try and get the baserunner, Luke Adkins, who scored on the play."

Mingione would probably be #1 on the list to replace him right now.

What has changed?

Jay stopped meddling with the lineup throughout the game due to righty/lefty matchups. He let guys get settled and they’re performing.

Compared to other SEC coaches, Mangione seems like a much cooler guy than most.

Awesome to hear Mingione speak highly of LSU and Johnson. Much respect and wish him and his team good luck going forward.

Nick M is a pretty good coach and a class act. He won a share of the conference title at Kentucky, which isn’t a baseball powerhouse and has never gotten to Omaha.

Mingione had a very classy interview. Went out of his way, almost over the top, to talk about how good a coach Jay is and how great Hollman was and is.
if you watch the postgame from the super regional last year he was glowing in his praise for LSU

He’s a goober but respectful. When you get blasted why not talk up the other team.

Johnson has his team almost in a national seed and says they lost bad to team that shouldn’t make the tournament.

I know nothing about UK's baseball coach but just based on this one press conference clip he seems like a good dude.

He's a soggy shite sandwich...He and Jay are old friends (I think he was in Jay's wedding) don't take it for any more than that! He's a turd!

Jay Johnson is the GOAT and it took him 2/3rds of the season to figure this year’s team out.

That could become the norm with the portal. Our top 2 pitchers and our top hitter were portal guys.
