Maybe he will realize how toxic his mom is after this complete screw up and finally leave the nest

He's really going to regret this in 10-15 years (or sooner) when his playing career is done and he and his mom have destroyed his legacy at both colleges he went to. He's not going to be welcomed back here for sure.

This is such an impulsive and short-sighted move.

I think of Skyler Green when I think of #5. Sorry, Jayden

LSU is going to be forced to delete him which hurts him more than LSU.

Disagree. Why would Jaden's number not be available? Unless we broke a promise to Jaden, which is not what he is claiming. Winning the Heisman does not equate to retiring a number.

Kind of surprised by this. He seems kind of humble to be acting like that. Wonder if someone else is in his ear about this?

I get being upset that someone is wearing the number but, is it really worth cutting all ties with the school that helped you get to where you are? I mean, number 7 is still used.

It's disappointing to say the least.

Me too.

What a profoundly arrogant position to take by JD. I'm truly disappointed.

LSU should come out today and announce the retirement of #9 and not say a word about #5 as a big 'frick you' to Daniels.

frick Daniels for his really petty position.

Sometimes I wonder how many LSU football fans have actually played football. A lot of soft people on this site.

It’s football… schedule a Zoom call to ask permission wear a number? lol

That totally depends on his contract with LSU and the SEC that he signed to get paid when he came to LSU

No “feels like”, it already has. At least with me. I love Jayden, don’t get me wrong, but if you sue or threaten to sue LSU, you better have a darn good reason to do so (James Cregg).

My vote is for LSU to comply with JD5’s C&D, remove his name & image from the school, leave the Heisman trophy and just take his plaque off, and allow Pickett to wear #5.

This is childish. Be better Jayden

Kiffin should offer a walk on spot to a kid with the last name Daniels and give him #5.

That would be a proper F.U. to Jayden!

Daniels deserves #5 to be retired. Seems appropriate for one of the few Heisman winners in LSU history! When Picket, who is a great player, earns his Heisman, then he can rightly have his new number retired! Come on, DJ, do the right thing, and any ego involved in this, and give up #5.

That would be a very lane Kiffin thing to do and I’m all for it in this instance.

Retiring jersey numbers is foolish. I hate it.

I really wish LSU would announce/enact a policy of not retiring jersey numbers.

Great LSU players should leave the program with confidence in their performance while at LSU and shouldn't give a rat's @ss about what number they wore. Like, move on with your life and have some humility.

This isn't surprising to me at all.

He comes across as a complete weirdo these days with all the stuff with his mother. It is really bizarre for a grown man to act like he does

I care more about a current player than a past player that lost 8 games number
