Weirdness part is I have 0 association with the #5 and any LSU player.
Hard to compare it to #9 as Burrow lead them to a national championship. Huge difference between this and #5.

So the water cooler talk at work this morning with a bunch of guys that are fans of several different programs in the country was a consensus that Jayden Daniels looks like a bitch in this.
These people hate to take Kiffin and LSUs side and even they were defending the actions of the school/coach.

They have one. LSU does not officially retire numbers. If a coach wants to take a number out of circulation, he can do that. Miles took 37 out of circulation, 9 has been out of circulation since 2019, and apparently Kelly took 5 out of circulation.
Kelly's not here any more and Kiffin is rightfully more concerned with keeping his current player happy.

Yeah, I was expecting the normal LSU haters to chime in with low IQ takes today, but this is like a 95% to 5% issue on JD looking like the bad guy here.

Unless they lift the C&D, it IS all gone.
A statue and the Ring of Honor requires LSU’s use of his name, image and likeness. None of which they can legally use as of now.

We went 60 years between our first two Heismans. I don't think we're going to run out of numbers.
That said, just a Heisman, I think statue and jersey retired. Heisman AND a title gets your number retired as well. That scenario just doesn't happen enough to worry about losing possible roster numbers.
I don't think anyone should wear 9 again.

This is my take. Someone thinking they own a number is next level dumb. I am not surprised though... especially if "Mom" is involved...
