I trust Fontenot more than Schmidt at this point.

We should see both them at some point this weekend.

I'd like to see Mayers get a little more of a leash too. He's been doing what he's been asked to do for several appearances now.

I think Noot or Ware start tomorrow. I’d love it if it were Schmidt, but he just doesn’t have the mental fortitude right now.

He’s been pretty dominant all season when he throws strikes.

The new SEC Tournament kills the entire vibe for me. I was planning on going this year, then found out LSU is only guaranteed 1 game. Plus, if you’re the 1 or 4 seed, even if you win Thursday, you don’t play again until Saturday. Not driving 6 hours for that. Go back to the previous 14 team format, I bet South Carolina and Missouri fans would even agree to be left out.

Good gracious does every team we play have 2-3 LH starters.

After game 2 of this weekend, LSU will have faced seven left handed starters in their last eight conference games.

It seems that the guy SC is starting tomorrow is not one of their regular weekend starters. I wonder if they may be holding one of them out to start the SEC Tournament.

Every one of their weekend starters has an ERA of 7.43 in SEC play, so I doubt they have anyone worth saving. It’s more likely they are searching for someone to do better. Crowther has by far the best ERA in league games at 2.20, though only 14 IP. Only one other reliever is below 7.43 and he’s at 5.40 in 11.2 IP. They are just a dreadful staff, which probably means they’ll pitch lights out against LSU.

Paul may not have a lefty on staff.

Dude left LSU in 01 or whatever and had like 1-2 lefties on staff.

Crazy times

‘01 was Skip’s last season, not Paul’s.

I guess I'm the only one expecting a sweep this weekend. I just don't see South Carolina and CPM competing with us this year.

Hold up bro. Lsu is 6-7 on the road in SEC. And we have seen them play down to opponents. This team has not traveled well so temper expectations of a sweep.

2 out of 3 is the goal. A sweep would be nice but is hardly a given even though S. Car hasn't been good.

Jay will play to win in sec tourney but if you win 2/3 against usc the tourney is meaningless

How in the world did you get him retiring 4 years ago to be in 2001. What an egregious comment from someone who obviously doesn’t know ball.

Would love to see a Schmidt start.

He needs to quit walking people to get on the mound more. I love his talent level but he likely needs a another off-season before he is ready to be the guy.

I would pitch Noot tomorrow. He is a strike thrower and has had recent good outings.

Just want to give Hunt Palmer some props. He suggested this yesterday, but didn't think it would happen.

Agree on Meyers. He looked great against Aloy. His fastball might be the best on team when he can control it.
