I'm not saying he's bad. I'm not saying I don't want him. He's the 2nd best coach we've ever had, and I wouldn't trade him in a heartbeat.

But the best coach in college baseball doesn't let a catastrophe of a season like this happen. There's having losing seasons, and then there's letting your entire program unravel.

We were rank 2, started out the season 10 wins.

We end the season with an SEC average that if were a breathalyzer test wouldn't get us a DUI, getting swept by Georgia and Aggie for the first time, and basically have no hope or any bright spot to look at for next season.

Seasons like this are program enders, I don't think many of you are considering that and just automatically assume JJ will have it all fixed next year. Is that an automatic given though in this era?

I want to say yes, and his track record for it is amazing, but this season can't just be buried under the rug and forgotten.

A little overly dramatic with the program ending talk.

This season is a big setback but if there is a coach that can get shite figured out after a disastrous season my money is on Jay.

I do believe it might take a couple years though to right the ship completely.

Johnson reminds me at times of that travel ball coach that gets too caught up in playing players that will make his favorite moms happy because they’ll shower him with praise for playing their kids.

He is 1 of 2 current college baseball head coaches with multiple national titles. Since 2021 he has been to the cws 3 times, winning the cws 2 times, with 2 different programs.

The word "best " is subjective. Jay Johnson having a top 3 resume in college baseball is objective.

Name one coach in the entire country that wouldn't trade the last four years with Johnson. I'll wait.

Every single coach who you could argue is the best coach in America has had a season similar to this.

This is such an incorrect and hyperbolic statement it's insane.

Then you're not watching the games.

Texas A&M, a worse baseball program with worse fan support, facilities, coaches, donor support, and roster, had the same season last year.

They are going to be a national seed this year.

It's more of a given than in literally any other era in the sports existence.

Uh yes it can lol. A top 8 seed next year and this year doesn't matter at all.

You’re totally right. No decent player will ever want to come to LSU because we had an awful 2026. Screw Jay’s track record and NIL donors. May as well demo the stadium and shut down the program.

If anything, I want next year's baseball season to be a success just so I don't have to see this shite posted on here.

Name some coaches who are better than him. I'll wait.

It's impressive you and others are still melting over this team as if we haven't known for a couple months that they've sucked.

It’s a joke about his affinity for certain players this year.

You must be a travel ball coach that relishes in how you tell kids to keep their hands in.

If you’re gonna say that you should prob say who your top 3-5 are as a discussion point. If not then you’re just making claims with zero basis.

Look hes a good coach, is he elite no not even close.
I looked at what he did before he got to Lsu and it wasnt very impressive. I was calling him Coach O bc he caught lightning in a bottle in Skenes and Crews etc. Then he wins another championship and i ate crow. But I do believe like at any powerhouse if your elite you can do a complete rebuild. But if its already a well oiled machine then you should be abke to come in and sustain that engine and keep on keepin on.
I can tell ya this and im no baseball guru give me Wes Johnson over JJ when its all said and done.hes gonna be the next best thing in cbb

Whether he is or not - the talk of going to MLB seems to have stopped. Giants looking like idiots at this point I don't think any other teams will be doing that any time soon.
