Is this season already a success for you, or is more needed?

Go on record here, and let us know if this LSU baseball team needs to do more for you to consider it a successful season.

Just making it was satisfying for me. I would have been disappointed with anything less this year.

Then getting two wins in Omaha is the icing on the cake. No matter what happens from this point forward, it's been a great season.

Where do you stand?

We made it Omaha, for any season or team that is major success. To win the CWS is just icing on the cake. Great year so far.

Based on pre season expectations. No. We did not win the SEC regular season championship.

Based on the pitching that went down, yes they have done well.

However pitching held up in CWS and failures have been offensive which was supposed to be our strength.

Obviously I want to win the championship but if it ends today it has been a a very solid season. Knocking off Tennessee last night instead of getting knocked off by them helps a lot.

Preseason I had a super regional with a solid chance at Omaha. It just gets to be a game of attrition, luck, and momentum when you get down to the final 16. Anything and everything can happen.

Therefore I am satisfied. I would have been disappointed to be eliminated by Tennessee last night.

I think 50 wins, in the final 4, I think 3rd is the worst we finish in the final polls. Plus losing 3 big time arms this season. It’s a success

I was at peace after last night...I simply did not want UT ending our season! That said, I will be content but not happy with this season if it ends without a ring!

We have reached the Semi-final round, and the difference in being 1 win away from the finals vs. 2 is 1 run in a game where more people are talking about the ump than the play.

Many don't realize how much luck every team has to have to win a championship....at this point, that is what separates these teams...we didn't get lucky in the first wake game....

So yes...it's been a good/successful season...

I would also like to beat wake 1 time....or just win the whole f#($?%g thing!

The final 4 is always a success. This season has also confirmed JJ is the correct man for the job.

on one hand, its an improvement from last season, and a pretty nice notch in the belt for a 2nd year coach.

on the other hand, with a pitcher like skenes and player like crews, who we'll likely not see the likes of either for some time, you want to walk away with the hardware.

so my answer, i feel like both!!

If you told me two years ago after the CJJ hire, that we'd be in the CWS and win two games, I would have said that is incredibly optimistic.

So yeah, this season is a success and anything else is a bonus at this point. That doesn't mean I don't think we can win it all though.

All lagniappe at this point. Did not think we had pitching depth to even beat Tenn a second time after burning two starters in a loss.

I am stoked for more baseball & if we get some luck today I think we can make the championship series.

However, that series would be without Skenes. If UF shuts it down in three games there is virtually 0 chance to win it all.

So we need some good fortune today + we need TCU to steal one from UF.

Didnt win SEC championship or tournament. Would hate to see this really good team in the "what went wrong with that team" category.

Getting to Omaha is a win. Actually winning the CWS has a lot to do with pure luck and timing but that’s baseball in general. Success in baseball can’t be determined by a few games. It’s definitely a “big picture” sport. Sure, you’d love to win the championship, but many times before the championship has been won by not necessarily the “best team”.

Preseason I had us unstoppable. You add just 2/6 missing arms back to this rotation & team immediately goes from “could pull it off with some luck” to “fkn terrifying”.

It is a success. Anyone saying otherwise is not a reasonable person.
