good lord, man. Only 1 team out of 131 will win the national championship. The other 130 teams shouldn't all feel shame.

Winning the SEC West is a huge accomplishment. Winning the SECCG is a huge accomplishment. Making the playoffs is a huge accomplishment.

The "Win it All or you're a Loser" mentality is nuts.

It's 1 or 2 more meaningful games. Of course "it matters." You should could get bummed if you lose just like 2011, but it's definitely better to be there than at home already done with your meaningless bowl.

for a team in year 1, and in supposed rebuild mode? it's a huge accomplishment and victory...either moral or not.

We should all just be good with making the SEC championship game. LSU isn’t making the playoffs. Even is the win the SEC 2 losses ain’t happening

Yea that's what I said in the next sentence.

There’s no scenario where we get wrecked in the first round of playoffs though.

Would you rather us get wrecked in the SEC CG, but win a NY6 bowl?

Coming off of a .500 season (with no postseason appearance) then a sub .500 season, with a bare roster and a new HC to start the season, us even being in the conversation is an insane, nearly unheard of accomplishment.

If you can't see that, here's what you should do: log off of TD > drive to Home Depot > purchase a Husky 24 oz. Ball Peen Hammer with 13.2 in. Hickory Handle > drive home > hit yourself in the forehead with your new hammer > repeat until you understand why you are stupid.

Yes. It would be huge to make it in Kelly’s first year. The recruitment bonanza would be amazing.

To make the playoffs LSU would have to beat Georgia. If LSU can beat Georgia they can beat anyone in the country.

Does it do anything for recruiting / NIL?

Yes Brian Kelly being able to say “I got to LSU with 39 scholarship players and in my first year brought them to the CFP playoffs” would be huge for recruiting and getting people willing to pay NIL deals.

Your are dumb if you don’t think that.

If this team is able to beat UGA then I like our chances against anyone

You’re kidding right?

Getting in the playoffs with what is going to be BK’s least talented team in his first year is absolutely huge for the program. It might be even bigger for the program than Orgeron winning it in 2019 because most people still doubted his ability to be a head coach (and rightfully so).

I can’t believe this is even a discussion. Going to the playoff is why you play the sport. Yea so you may lose the game but if you are a competitor you just want the shot.

I have to think people that would rather win a NY6 bowl (which isn’t a guarantee) than lose in a playoff game have never played competitive sports.

If we beat Georgia in the SECCG, who exactly are we afraid of?

What kind of pussy attitude is this? Winning the SEC and getting into the playoffs is a huge deal, whether you win it all or not.

Making the playoffs is not a moral victory, it is the goal.

That makes you a stupid person. Being in the playoffs helps with recruiting and would be a huge momentum builder.

Not to mention that if we beat UGA then why wouldn't we have a shot at winning the whole thing?
