If we kept Orgeron till 2023 and he had JD5, Malik, and BTJ, does he win another Natty?

If Ed O had last year’s offense, do we field a competent defense last year? Would O have righted the ship if he had that offense?

I know he was in complete collapse as a person, but I can’t see him fielding a defense that bad.

JD, Malik, and BTJ are so elite, I wonder if Orgeron would have won more with them?

Kelly found JD. Orgeron would've started Brennan

No the roster was depleted because of his shitty recruiting classes.

Of course he does.

Ed O knew how to manage his coordinators unlike Yankee CBK

Ed O wouldn't have had that roster because he drove it into the ground and didn't show any signs of wanting to fix the problem

The 2020 defense was worse than 2023, though I guess 2020 gets a Covid asterisk.

The 2021 defense was trending about as bad as 2023 (but with much better talent) until O got fired and they decided to start attacking over those last 4-5 games.

So you’ve already seen him field defenses that bad.

That is a ton of ifs dude. JD5 would of never been LSU’s QB if he was Coach.

WHAT IF.... WHAT IF... WHAT IF. Damn, don't y'all get tired of trying to answer questions that you can't answer?

I mean damn... what if Les wasn't hard headed. What if he actually had an OC. Just leave it all in the past.

Lot of contingencies before one could answer yes:

Who's OC?
Who's DC?

O was a very good recruiter IF his heart was in it.

Take a look at 2020 again, they were also pretty bad in 2021 until O just gave up

The only coaches on the LSU staff that succeeded under Orgeron we're either inherited or suggested by an inherited coach.

Ed Orgeron

Offensive Coordinator - Inherited Ensminger, demoted him, hired Canada, fired him, re-promoted Ensminger, Ensminger then saw Brady (not Orgeron) and pushed for his hiring, lost Ensminger, hired Peetz because he was friends with Brady at a D3 school and had never been an offensive coordinator in his 16 years of coaching.

Defensive Coordinator - Inherited Aranda, almost lost him, lost him, hired Bo Pelini who had the worst defense in school history on a defense with 11 NFL players, fired him, hired Daronte jones who hadn't been a defensive coordinator since his time at D3 Bowie State 12 years prior.

Brian Kelly

Offensive Coordinator - Hired Mike Denbrock, longtime OC, led one of the most prolific offensive seasons in CFB history, lost him, hired QB coach Joe Sloan who was an up and comer, former OC. Jury is still out.

Defensive Coordinator - Hired Matt House, former OC and NFL LB coach, up and comer, good first season and historically bad second season, fired him, hired Blake Baker who was one of the most sought after DC in America.

Hmmm you tell me who knows how to manage coordinators?
