If teams are going to continue to walk Crews at an extremely high rate would it be a bad

Idea to move him up a spot or even two in the lineup? Genuine question

Mainieri had the right idea putting him at lead off

Why would you move him up?

The second best hitter, a power guy and RBI machine is behind him.

Personally id keep dugas leading off and Morgan in the 2 hole where he is most comfortable

It’s been happening and Tommy has the most RBIs in the country. There’s nothing to change.

Yep. And I'm sure he'd like to hit the ball and get the Golden Spikes award but his OBP is gonna keep him right #1 in the draft.

With Tanks behind him and raking, he is fine right where he is.

I would LOVE to have an automatic base runner with Tanks at the plate.

Not with this lineup. You have to keep White after him with the way Crews gets on base.

Moving him up to 2nd with Dugas out has made it easier to walk him. When Dugas and Morgan were in front of him, there was a decent chance you were moving a guy into scoring position, which is borne out by Tanks RBI totals.

But as we saw last night, they can walk Crews and White can go off, and it still could have minimal impact. The solution isn't to move him up, it's to hope Dugas is back soon and back to form so that Crews can slide back to 3rd spot.

I’d say the 2 hole is my preferred spot for him but understand leadoff. You want to maximize his plate appearances coupled with damage potential

With Dugas out and Morgan not getting on as much lately, teams can try to pitch around Crews. When Dugas comes back they can still try it but as long as TW keeps mashing it’s not an effective strategy. I wouldn’t mess with the top of this lineup right now.

Dugas
Morgan
Crews
White
Jones

Should be the top five in the order from here on out….

I also feel like you could go

Crews
Dugas
Jones
White

But I don’t like the idea of white not ‘protecting’ crews

No reason to go with 3 righties in a row when beloso can jump ahead of white and break that up

It’s my unpopular opinion (and quite possibly the wrong one ) that those guys are good enough to where it doesn’t matter

I’m honestly not that high on beloso, he’s been okay, but he just doesn’t jump off the paper to me like he does for some other people around here. I fully reserve the right to be wrong here as well

I mean That’s why he’s behind White now but he’s not jumping in front of White.

I think I'd rather have him at 3 and Tanks at 4, instead of him at 1 and Morgan at 2.

I think in most cases, it would be better to have a guy like that at leadof... but I think with Tanks able to put bat on ball so often, the way we have it is actually better.

If he’s not hitting in front of White, he’s just going to be walked more.

The lineup structure is fine, not sure why this is always a thread after they lose a game.
