Its practically a no brainer. You MUST win tonight... against the best, throwing their best. You go all out to win, cause thats what it'll take.
And when they win, they only need to force a rubber match against Florida and we likely get Skenes again for a game three to win it all.

Johnson rolled Skenes out vs. literally the worst team in the NCAAT in game one. Meaning he made him unavailable for a better team in OSU and, later, a regional winning game. Point being, if he feels reasonable comfortable that Skenes is available he's not going to risk ending the season with his biggest X-factor not seeing the field.

This weekend is irrelevent. We out of pitchers now. SKENES has to help his team get there he only one with any rest and the most rest at that.
Florida is not better than lsu. They barely won all 3 of their games and could of lost all 3 in their powder puff bracket.
Tbh, lsu doesnt need Skenes to beat Florida. Our whole staff with floyd, hurd, ack, cooper, herring,guidry will be available on weekend.

I would go backwards. I would start whomever Johnson trusts as his top reliever then come in with Skenes if the situation warrants.

You know the answer. With him, we have a chance to beat Florida.

The problem is we have even a lower chance of beating Wake tonight without him given our pitching situation.
We are going to face Florida's #1, #2 and #3 with our #2/#3, our #4 (Ackerman) and our #5 (Herring)
Or, we face Wake's #1 with our #3 (for 2-3 innings) and Cooper (1-2 innings) and Gilbert (1-2 innings) and whatever you can get from #7/#8/#9.
Choose your path. Some think taking a stand tonight in an attempt to get pretty damn normal from a pitching standpoint for the Championship series is worth it.
Some think we get to the championship and then just accept our fate there.

If Skenes throws more than 5 innings tonight, he MIGHT make a short appearance in game 3 IF we get that far. Bullpen games can be won against WF. I don't see that as a realistic option vs UF's lineup. I'd rather roll the dice tonight (the first few innings) than in the finals. I think we match up fantastically with Florida if Skenes throws game 1. Without him, THAT would be a shitload harder than tonight.

Game 3 isn't "nearly" 4 days rest from tonight, except in the sense that 3 of anything is nearly 4 of that thing.

I agree. Might ise him for two innings. That's it. Everybody who is downvoting, will wake up to reality if we win this game and have to face Florida without him.
