Hoping to bring the kids in for a day of baseball (vs. UT) and softball (vs. UF) on 4/26.

Looking for 5 seats to both baseball and softball on either day, preferably in the infield.

Thanks!

I agree - this seems to fit perfectly with everything that we've heard... it explains why there was never a 1-yr suspension - just a permanent dismissal.

Best seats in the house
Am I the only one with issues regarding the Nate Silver article and using that as proof that aTm has a large fan base?

Click the link... the guys uses google searches for "college football" as his basis for who is a fan of college football and the relative concentration of "college football" searches as the determinant for what regions have the highest proportion of CFB fans. That is ludicrous. Most semi-intelligent, semi-computer-literate CFB football fans would NEVER search for "college football." What kind of crappy results would that yield? Case in point, Birmingham has the highest per capita concentration of "college football" searches.

All Silver's article shows is which regions:
A. have a higher concentration of people who are
B. seeking vague information about a sport they are probably not that interested in and
C. don't know where to find said information and
D. suck at generating search terms

Other than the basic foundation the entire article is structured on, not too bad...
Maybe I'm the only one, but I think the updated logo (V2) looks a TON better than the original. I don't quite get why you mirrored it so he's facing left instead of right, but I think the meaner eyes and more open mouth look like he's roaring instead of singing in the church choir.

Do the revisions make it a great logo? No. Not even close. It is much better though. In all honesty, the helmet tiger isn't all that great either... it's just what we're most used to.

All told, the quarterbacks [Smith, Wilson, Murray, apparently two others] went 8-of-21 (38.1 percent) for 144 yards (6.9 YPA), no touchdowns, and two interceptions throwing at Mathieu.

Can't cover. Overrated. A returner and scrub at the next level. Right? Right?!?

Only problem with this one is that he left out the analysis of the NCG... these numbers would look a little different (I think) if those were included.

Either way, though, his "lack of coverage skills" is extremely overstated, IMO.

Pound for pound, Mathieu is the most physical player in the country. I have not seen every player in the country, but I'd still say this with confidence. I would place bets on this player. As a tackler, Mathieu sifts through trash smoothly and is terrific in one-on-one situations. I saw him break down and tackle Georgia RB Isaiah Crowell mano-a-mano in the open field after diagnosing the run play from his deep safety position. Against Arkansas, Mathieu again attacked from deep and popped the ball loose from RB Dennis Johnson after stacking him up. Mathieu separates the football from ball carriers. He explodes into tackles, and his knack for run support will keep him on the field for early downs. He won't be a sub-package DB only. Mathieu closes on skill-position players as if he's been shot from a cannon. He is a violent collision seeker.

re: Pitching rotation this weekend?

So I don't want to resurrect a thread that has died a slow and painful death, but I will anyway.

IF we win tomorrow (regardless of pitcher), I don't think it's a bad idea to throw Eades on Saturday - for a different reason though. The second half of the season has been a little bit of a struggle for Eades compared to the first half, and I think getting him some work would be good for him going into the tourney (because we WILL need him if we're going to go deep).

If you throw Eades on Saturday you either get the win against their ace, which would be a nice confidence boost for him, or you lose and still have Gausman available to throw on Sunday against their #3, which should result in a W.

In a perfect world, I agree you throw your best guys in order and pick up the wins. In this situation, though, I'd much rather see Eades get some work in than Gausman, who we know will be solid throughout the rest of the season.

I agree and also believe that Barack Obama or Brittany Spears will win the presidential race this November.
