Florida is good - there's a reason they are #2. But there's also a reason Wake is #1 and LSU is #5. There are three really good teams left in Omaha, and our opponent tonight is Wake Forest. We have to beat them to face Florida. Wake is not some lightweight SunBelt school that's on a lucky streak; those guys can hit so I'd rather not find out just how much they can hit by being cute and starting Thatcher Hurd.

Why because he makes more sense than someone whose sole goal is beating Wake Forest? The pure number of "intelligent" posts here speaks highly of the IQ level and higher strategic level cognitive thinking of the typical commentator.
I can see arguments both ways but do NOT think starting Skenes is an automatic decision.

If the ACC is better than the SEC then your post would make some sense. Wake Forest and the ACC haven't looked better than the SEC. There were number 1 for 4 weeks - LSU was number one for 11 weeks.

Just stop. Skenes is going to put this team literally on his shoulder. It's what Alphas do. Alphas have Alpha egos. Hes going tonight and he's going Monday and in his mind Tigers are either going to win the natty or his arm is going to fall off trying. Alpha ego brother. shite happens in the MLB world series too

Yo Templars. He's goin 7 tonight and then until the tank is empty Monday. Which means hes gonna be pissed if he cant go complete game. Think about it that way in terms of future earnings for once

There's a reason I posted LSU's stats in there too. UF isn't a high BA team, nor are they a high OBP team. WF is, in many cases because of their ability to take walks. They are #1 in the country in walks (LSU is #3).
I guess my point is that Florida is no more dangerous a team than Wake is, so why are some of our fans acting as if we'd be better off throwing trash against Wake because we'll need the big boys more against UF?
