Let the downvotes commence, but...

I've been here all week. Wind is going to continue blowing inside a very pitcher-friendly stadium tonight, and Wake is hitting the worst of any team in the CWS. All we have to do is keep it over the plate and let our outfielders collect those fly balls. Especially after the performances from Ack and Griffin, I'm confident we can bring this home with Hurd, Guidry, Money and Coop.

On the other hand, Florida is arguably the best hitting team thus far and the only team in Omaha who has been able to consistently knock it out of the park. Also consider the direction of the wind should be changing to blow out of the stadium for the finals. I would feel 1000x more comfortable with Skenes on the mound in that scenario.

I know the obvious choice is to ride Skenes into the finals, just not sure that's the best strategy.

I’m sure that will never ever change.

With the way we've used our relief pitchers these last two nights who the heck do you think we have left to piece together 9 innings?

I'll hang up and listen.

Floyd and Hurd are capable arms, and the pen needs rest. Save it for the weekend.

Skenes gives you the best chance to rest the pen and get you to the weekend. Floyd and/or Hurd are not available on 3 days of rest.

What happens if you lose and don't make the finals. Your season will end with the best college baseball pitcher in a decade sitting on the bench.

This is why you are behind a keyboard and not in the dugout.

You can win if he doesn’t play.

You can also win if he doesn’t start but plays.

Amazing that people think the ONLY way we win if is Skenes STARTE

How are you going to feel when LSU loses 4-2 tonight without Skenes and doesn't make the finals?

Are you going to feel better knowing that we saved Skenes for his first professional game?

Here's a wild idea: Skenes can be utilized in a way that simultaneously honors his health / future prospects AND helps LSU advance in the CWS.

If the object is to get to the finals, you throw Skenes today. If the object is to ultimately win the whole thing, you save your big gun for game 1 of the finals. I agree that this is an unpopular take, but Florida hitting is on another level.

We had to bail ourselves out multiple times from them scoring more runs. Let’s revisit how many they left on base in both games played against them.

Skenes gives LSU the best chance to win now. If we don't win now, there is no Florida.

You pitch your best now.

I personally believe that WF is overhyped and overmatched, that the only reason they won the first game was because someone paid off the umpire in the sixth inning, and the Tigers are going to prevail no matter who we walk out onto the mound.

It’s the smart decision. Others agree.

Simple minded people are the ones that can’t comprehend the approach.

1 game sudden death. You throw the horse that got you there, the baby, and the kitchen sink at Wake.
