Someone read a blog post

F. King's idea of having "holistic" admissions standards instead of academic admissions standards makes LSU look like it is concerned with anything but academics.

You mean the same standards Harvard uses? or a majority of the SEC?

You’ve got it so bad man, how many of these are you gonna start? Only morons like you would think that a basketball coach at a football school could singlehandedly get rid of an AD and school president within two months of each other with negative press surrounding him. We say that on the Rant because it’s funny and because their handling of a non event that involved Wade was the straw that broke the camels back. But none of that matters to someone like you who’ll use any and every excuse he can to attack, diminish or smear coach Wade.

See this is the kind of feelings bullshite that got us in the spotlight from the start.
You run the institution as it needs to be run and you do what's best for the school, period. You do not make knee jerk reactions because you care about what people think.

In your opinion, why did Will Wade give back $250k of bonus money, and amend his contract to make him easier to terminate?

Yes.

Next question.

If king gets fired, it will just be a matter of time before Wade is fired

Chinhoyang is a reliable troll.
But, the fact remains that Will Wade is responsible for the”perception that Wade did it” by virtue of his own statements in the intercepted communication. I like Wade, but no one disputes that it is his voice in his own words, and it is facially inculpatory.
I dislike F. King, but he did not create this particular crisis.

I can promise you that CWW would not have any direct say so in anything related to FK or JA. His situation was simply the reason those who dislike JA and FK seized the opportunity. I am supportive of getting rid of them. CWW was certainly in no position to demand anything. He just wanted to keep his job.

[quote I don't want LSU to end up with the reputation that it is all about sports only at LSU.[/quote]

Way to late to be concerned with that, a quick look at alumni donations makes it pretty clear that most would have no problem bulldozing the campus if that would win more games, or even just improve game day parking..

Do you really want LSU to become the Evangel of colleges where sports > academics?

Is this supposed to mean that Alexander has been good for academics? Because, last time I checked, LSU isn't breaking barriers in that department. That's not to say it's poor, or that there aren't some pluses. But nothing has improved under Alexander, and athletics have certainly regressed. We finally have some success in basketball, and the guy tries to blow it all up.

There is more evidence against Johnny Jones having committed violations, and yet we're supposed to act like Will Wade has done some horrible, unheard of thing, IF it can even be proven?

Wanting to have a competent AD and school president, who will not actively work AGAINST their own school, just to make some political statement, is not equal to conceding academics.

I will lastly add that just because a few people think Will Wade is getting people fired, that does not mean that this will be the overall public perception. I think Will Wade has fought well for his job and won. A LOT of people fought to oust Alleva and now maybe Alexander. This was a cumulative frustration from years of mistakes by the administration, and the Will Wade saga was the last straw. It was handled so poorly, with so little consideration, and made such a public mess, that it was time for change, and everyone knew it.

Is this different than what's already going on? Most schools that have successful sports programs are perceived to be this way, especially the ones in the south.

Whether or not you agree with that, fact is, successful sports programs generate lots of money and allow more academic programs to be funded. That being the case, who cares how we're perceived as long as we're successful on and off the field?

It seems to really upset you and a few other posters that Will has the full support of the most powerful people involved with LSU.
