I agree. The BCS formula with 12 teams would be awesome. You could still have 5 conference champions and 7 at large teams while using the BCS rankings.

Yes a panel tonight said it’s about recognizing a Brand name vs what a lesser new kid on the block did in their actual season this year. So totally wrong in every way. So what’s to play for if your taking care of business and a bigger name brand will supersede your actual on field accomplishments.

Yes I think smu could beat Bama. I’ve said it from the beginning, there should be a clause in the playoffs stating “if you lose to Vanderbilt, you are automatically disqualified from playoff contention”

This year's Bama is schizoid. They can be as good (or bad) as anybody. Wouldn't surprise me if they may a run as the #11 selection!

The 12 team playoff was specifically designed so that Alabama makes the playoff every year. That’s the only reason it was approved.

Because the committee backed themselves into an illogical corner by ranking SMU 3 spots ahead of Alabama in the last poll. If SMU gets left out in favor of Alabama then the committee is rewarding Alabama for literally doing nothing but sitting at home while SMU was forced to play another game.
If the committee doesn’t release weekly polls (like the NCAA Tournament committee doesn’t do) then they could maintain credibility and still put Alabama in. But they do, and they will lose whatever small sliver of credibility if the put an Alabama team with a worse record in over SMU.
