Last year boosters committed to the most expensive roster in football and that resulted in a 7-5 record. Everyone assumed this was due to coaching

This year boosters committed to even more money. Reported roster of $50 mil, coaches etc. It has resulted in two losses mid way through October with games still left against Alabama, Texas and Tennessee. Probably looking at 3-4 losses total.

So again this year LSU had the best roster money can buy but no results due to coaching. How long can this sustain?

Kiffin didn’t come here for a 1 year NIL guarantee and our boosters didn’t get to their level of success by being emotional idiots.

LSU doesnt have the most expensive roster and nobody truly knows what was spent. However, your question goes to the plan Dr Rousse and had the meeting with the big money people to find a way to still pay these players but find a way for them to generate money off it as well.

I always considered the cost of this team to be a sort of down payment on the Kiffin era. Portal players are a more expensive commodity, and we will never have to go fill half the roster via the portal again under Kiffin.

Until a player contract/agreement is standardized in some way, shape, or form across all FBS (or its future iteration) divisions…

It's hard to believe they did it at all. Money does't seem to translate into wins.

Who the frick cares? How much $$ did you contribute?

If boosters didn’t have it, they wouldn’t spend it.

Generally false statement. There are exceptions, but the better teams are the most expensive ones.

How much should a donor give if the coach can’t give you three feet?

It is apparent that a lot of people really thought the money we spent would immediately make us elite as compared to digging ourselves out if a hole.

Seriously.

I think that's part of why the SCSA needs to be passed. Allow NIL but not to the level it's currently at.

It's not like they get some big return on their investment when we win.

The SCSA is an abomination... yet so truly American.
