BK has had the same lines all year about why the team wasn't performing. Thats an awful long time to run a con just to save Matt House's feelings, but possible I guess.

Its not hard to believe, he did the samething with the special teams last year, then made a change.
With that said, House has it in his bag to be a good DC, so i wont be upset if they keep him

House didn't get to hire all of the defensive coaches. Kelly will give him a chance to run off some and get ones he can work with. Starting with Steeples.

unpopular opinoin....
house is retained... might lose a DB coach... maybe...
all the players return except Wingo and we have a stud Defense next season...
way too many injuries this year... House has always been very well respected... its gotta be the DB's and DL situation.. it seemed to me like a perfect storm of everything...
if the players have confidence in him then he should return... if they dont then he needs to leave, because their trust is hard to "get back" the players have to trust him the way they trusted Aranda..

House's defense was struggling late last season in games vs. 4-7 A&M and Georgia. So while it wasn't anywhere close to as bad as this season, it wasn't trending in the right direction either.
BK has just watched House waste the best offense and QB BK has ever had, and may EVER have. BK came here to win a championship. He has a championship level offense. If he had just an average defense LSU would be in the hunt for a NC given the rest of the field.
I seriously doubt BK is going to give House a "do over" in a year where LSU will be worse offensively and, thus, more reliant on their defense. The special teams were an abject disaster and BK nudge out the only coach to follow him from ND (Polian). He's being professional right now. But there is zero way House returns.

In Kelly's defense, would you slam your coach that you need for another 3 games? Granted, defense is shite, and I'm sure an assistant could get by, but still.

there is an obvious teaching and communication problem between coaches and players
that is the kind of stuff that should be fixable

yea that's why he's recruiting a HS class of 30+ players the year after of recruiting one with 28 HS players and today in his press conference said they were only planning on taking a few transfers

he will looks better with better players. not shocking.
