All I care about is if he can kick ‘em straight through the goalposts from 50 yards in. That’s all we need from our kicker this year.
I mean it’d be nice if we only had to get to the 45 yd line instead of the 30 to get points.

Looks like he got enough height on them. That’s always the concern. Don’t understand why there isn’t someone or something which can there at 10ft tall to simulate a block attempt, etc.

You can probably go find several soccer players on campus that can do that same thing after a week of practice.
Doubtful.

Just make the ones you should make in a game and I'll be fine.
Last year 55/57 XP 10/14 FG
Florida State - 2/3 XP and 1/2 FG - Blocked XP and blocked FG - Not Ramos' fault
New Mexico State - 5/5 XP 1/2 FG Missed 38 Yard FG
Ole Miss - 6/6 XP 1/2 FG missed a 42 yard FG
UAB - 4/5 XP Missed XP
Georgia 3/3 XP 1/2 FG FG Blocked not Ramos fault
As a true Freshman he really only missed 1 of 57 XP and had one blocked. He did miss 2 of 14 FG attempts and had 2 blocked. I suspect this season will be better.

You people are miserable... Why?
Ramos was fine last year as he made some great kicks. He got blocked at FSU game because of poor alignment and ST blocking.
He is making 63 and 67 yard kicks in practice, way to go kid. He evidently worked his arse off to get stronger, so support him, and get off the rubbish words you can find a guy in the quad who plays soccer for that kick. Maybe you would appreciate it if Daniels only got LSU to the 45 yard line of our opponent with 3 seconds left down by 2, and the kick is placed at the LSU 47 yard line for a 63 yard FG, and Ramos NAILS IT!!!

Dude, I never said one bad thing about Ramos. All I'm saying is that him making these kicks in practice with no crowd, no pads, no offensive or defensive line, etc doesn't really get me excited. It shows that he probably got stronger this offseason, which is great. If he continues to build on what he did last year I'll be happy.

Good eye Revan11. He got pelted right in the face. Geez....we are still in need of a punt returner. Actually just punt catcher would be fine.

Life long soccer player here with a fairly strong leg. No, it's not that easy. 65+ is very long. I topped out at 52 or so, adding that extra 10+ yards would take some serious work.

I wish him well. Funny to see him, the holder, and the snapper stare down the 63 like that. I get it though, the holder is usually pretty dang invested. We REALLY need him to have a great career here.
My boy is 4 years younger, hope he builds muscle like Ramos.
Similar builds to when Ramos was in high school:

Who is actually coaching the kickers and what is their qualification ro do so?
.
The Ole Miss ST coach that everybody thought we were going to hire was a former kicker in College.
Who on the "Team LSU Special Teams Coaching Conglomerate" has any background in coaching kickers and/or has actual playing experience as a Kicker? (Yes, it matter)

Honestly, I don’t think it works like that anywhere. They help you get stronger, they chart you regularly, they run drills for fakes, set up practices where you do height drills…
I’ve asked SEC staffs specifically…and you may get an analyst to offer advice, but no one has a kicking coach on staff. Every kicker already has a dedicated kicking coach…you just keep working with them.

Wonder if he keeps the hop after the skip step in games.
