re: Would you consider hiring a young coach who is a first-time HC in a Div I power 5…

I would be ecstatic if we hired the north Texas coach. It is a gamble, no matter which criteria you use to find a coach.

Love the dodger players hate the Dodgers organization there as well as they come, and the people that are running them are scum
Taxpayers are not on the hook for the buyout. The buyout is coming from an anonymous donor. The Governor is a political grandstanding moron. He just doesn't always have his facts straight. He does not like Woodward at all and he knows the new LSU president will let Woodward go. I am not defending Woodward but why would Jimbo Fisher himself come on oval radio and say Woodward at the time he was AD at Texas AM was NOT responsible for his huge contract extension but it was the current Aggie AD. People need to get facts straight whether they like the person or not. You would think the Governor would have more insight and instincts but he doesn't.

Not sticking up for Woodward but I am trying to understand how he gets criticized for Jimbos massive contract yet when Jimbo was on with Hester and Flynn he said that the current AD was responsible for the massive contract extension not Woodward. He is only responsible for one terrible contact and that's Brian Kelly.
I like your thinking and the path your going down but I want Sumrall at Tulane
Ole Miss has half the money invested in their roster than last year and they are still good. Having the most money to get portal guys helps and we will always have the talent imo. Coaching and scheme and development is the main culprit.
I am sick of the rebuild talk for next years football team.
Posted by Herman on 10/20/25 at 6:40 am
We are in a new era now. Teams can lose tons of good players and be good the next year bc of the portal and obviously good coaching which we currently have felt don't have especially on offense. For example, look at Ole Miss last year and every one knew that was their year to make a playoff run with a top portal class and a great overall team loaded with pros. This was supposed to be a "rebuilding year" for them and so still see a very good team with very little dropoff. I am trying to be positive even though I have zero faith in CBK to turn it around but to say rebuild means to me that we are expected to be worse and I just can't buy into that logic. Every team replaces good players.

You don't have to have the most expensive roster to make the playoffs. What LSU needs are developers as opposed to recruiters and a coach who is less CEO type that the players can relate to and is hungry. Lost of big name programs have vastly different approaches to hiring coaches. We went for a big splash accomplished coach with a reputation for never winning big times meanwhile other schools like Ohio State and Oregon took guts that had never been head coaches. It's gamble and I hope the next coach is a young up and comer like John Sumrall at Tulane or something. It's a risk either approach you take. I think we have Kelly for 1 more year with a new offensive staff. My hope is we go 6-6 and further accelerate the hate and pain to force a chance. The good news is that with the landscape of college football and the portal you don't have to be down for long
re: Arch Manning...Makes Nuss look like a genius.
Posted by Herman on 10/5/25 at 9:11 am to TopWaterTiger
Arch was never going to go pro even if he was a 1et Team All American this season. He will get better over time but it was so obvious the hype around him was bigger than any one person on earth could handle.
Both teams are not playoff teams
You are correct. An employee did post very negative remarks about Kirk and were turned in and the police got involved.

Nuss does have to get better no doubt but he has been battling though a torso injury since spring that Kelly shed light on yesterday coupled by Kelly admitting to not focusing as much on deep passes and is making the offense more conservative given the fact we have a top notch defense. We are basically managing the game with field position and good D but we are also stripping Nuss from his DNA which is a gunslinger. The offense is 100% on CBK and he even said he told Sloan to dial back the the offense and go into manage mode.

Parish Restaurant in Monroe. They mentioned the restaurant at the end for those asking who the restaurant was. Just google it. I hope the restaurant goes under and better yet I hope the employee finds Jesus
re: What grade/age do most kids get recruited in baseball?
Posted by Herman on 9/9/25 at 3:31 pm to StephenTaylor09
All I know is the travel team my nephew plays on out of Atlanta has players from all over the country that fly in for showcase games. My brother will send pics of college coaches lined up at showcases like beach chairs in Destin. It's insane. If your a marginal player and want to play D2,NAIA, D3 or Juco then the rules for contact are different for D1. Some of these top Jucos would beat the hell out of lots of D1 teams

August before Junior year is when schools can directly call you and have face to face interactions. If you play on a good travel team that plays at the showcases that attract colleges and pro scouts then you will get invites to college camps long before your junior year bc if your good enough to play at the college level D1 schools will know who you are. You need to get a perfect game and prep baseball report profile which is baseballs version of ON3 for football recruiting. For example, my nephew plays for a top travel ball team out of Atlanta called East Cobb Astros Orange. Basically the entire team signs D1 or goes pro out of high school. Bottom line is go to camps before junior year and play on a team that plays in the tournaments that coaches actually go to.

That's definitely a good sign and yes, he does go to high school in Louisiana, but he is from Gulf Shores, Alabama
re: How often you get your dog's teeth cleaned by a vet?
Posted by Herman on 9/1/25 at 5:48 pm to Porter Osborne Jr
Smaller breeds tend to have really bad teeth such as poodles since their teeth are crowded. Bigger dogs have more spacing between teeth. If you notice brown or grey plaque typically towards the back teeth then it's time to get them cleaned. I pay around $165 but it depends on size of dog as well. I have been in the animal health industry for almost 30 years and no doubt the cost of a dental has a huge variation from clinic to clinic. I get my dogs teeth cleaned every other year but not until they are around 4 years of age. Really bad teeth causes infections that get in the bloodstream and will shorten your dogs life considerably
re: Jackson Arnold
Posted by Herman on 8/30/25 at 6:54 am to UKWildcats
I watched the game and Arnold was decisive and obviously used his strength (his legs) to do damage. In the other hand it's not too hard to see that his arm isn't something to be feared. You have to spy him and if you slow down his legs you win. Auburn has some pieces on defense but are a long way away from looking like any type of contender. I know it's early. Nice win over a decent Baylor team (my Alma mater) on the road

I throw away tickets like that all the time. Do not pay it unless the cop actually issues you a ticket in person
