I like it. Play the media's game. Do to them what they do to everyone else.

It is all beyond absurd at this point, regardless.

This. I think it’s 95% because these media frickwads really hate Kim more than anything.

Since.both teams had AA stars and the culprit was the LA Times, I’m going with leftist elitism.

Cali girls have to be better than Louisiana girls, and sprinkle in the leftist coach is much better than KM!

Just my thoughts.

Indeed.

Nope

If it was sexist rather than racist, then Iowa and Caitlin Clark would be getting the same reaction that Angel Reese and LSU are getting. They’re not.

But even that elitism can be rooted in racism. UCLA is surrounded by Beverly Hills and Bel Air. LSU is in a predominantly black city.

Even the fact that both teams have African American stars doesn’t matter. Dude is basically saying UCLA’s black players are cool because they go THERE. If those same girls were at LSU, well, they’d be dirty debutantes too.

Angel got called out more the last game against Iowa because she chased down the player after the game was over to taunt her while she should have been celebrating the championship her team just won

How many times do you need to be told that Angel didn't chase down Clark after the game was over?

Same old racism, different decade. Reminds me of when Miami played Notre Dame, convicts vs catholics. If you have a predominantly black team, you are thugs, criminals, and now, dirty debutantes. Shameful.

No, it's not.

It's west coast elitism trying to knock down an "undeserved" team because their head coach did not grovel to Britney Griner. It's liberal coast elitists angry that Mulkey didn't bow to government and is outspoken about covid, not to mention, she doesn't cave to PC bullshite.

That is why the article happened.

I've been thinking about this since yesterday.

I think it is sexism. I think people have a problem that our players wear make-up and fake eyelashes. I think people have a problem that our players (and coach) are strong women with strong personalities.

I think it can also be racism. But I think CKM was right. Sexism is at play here. Women can't look pretty and play good basketball. That isn't allowed. Better be plain and look tough. Better not look good while doing it.

How often do I see Olivia Dunn dragged on here for being beautiful and a gymnast. She is both. Who the frick cares? She represents LSU, and I'm glad she does.

The portrayal of LSU WBB players in the LA Times was more than just a case of sexism or raceism. It was written by a “professional” writer and approved all the way up the editorial chain of command and then published. Because of the language used to characterize these players it crosses into the area of defamation of character. I do not think it would be hard to hold the LA Times or the writer accountable with a defamation suit from LSU or the women on the team. Just saying.

The Duke player who “heard” something had a personal experience. The people offended by rope in a car garage had a personal experience. Every leftist Karen who thinks everything is racist and blacks need special treatment and lower expectations had a personal experience. The head coach had a personal experience with the article, and she said it was sexist.

People misinterpret other people’s words and actions all the time.

HVL is wrong about this article. HVL also has a reputation, but this year she has held it more in check struggling while playing out of position (I guess from what I read here as I don’t really watch the games). She isn’t the best player here or most visible player, so why would article compare her to UCLA’s player. The article was still inclusive in regards to HVL when going negative about the team in general. The article wasn’t all about the coach, but it definitely centered on the coach and issues being top down more than anyone else. The hate of LSU in the media and in various parts of the country starts with the coach.

BS. A lot of college teams are a majority black especially with the ones who dress out and see the field. Are they labeled as convicts?

Miami was obviously good at football then and a rival to ND at the time which was having success again. 2 private schools going at each other with one overwhelming known as a Catholic school. It was made up by a student I think and just caught on. I think it got turned back on ND a little by Miami’s students when ND went to Miami later. I can’t remember what it was, but it’s not like catholic jokes don’t get pushed onto catholic schools. Rivals do this stuff all the time. This board said a lot of stuff about Bama, it’s players, and Saban.

Also, due to their fame and at times infamy Miami got a lot of press which put a focus on them more for anything, so more of the bad was going to come out than at other schools back before social media and so on. They also loved to be hated especially on the road. Silencing the crowd and making them leave early was almost better than the cheers of their fans at home. They played up the notorious angle.

Imus used the term “nappy headed ho’s”. That is egregious. Dirty debutants is bad but doesn’t reach the level of nappy headed ho’s.

Google it, but I wouldn't use your work laptop.

I have two daughters. If anyone calls either of them a dirty debutant, they’re getting fricked up on site with no questions asked.
