Lack of run support is huge. Let's imagine he has an ERA OF 1.40. He still wouldn't have any run support and his team would still lose. Face that on nearly every one of your starts-that's tough to deal with on a continuous basis.

I'm pretty sure it's intentional. He doesn't need to throw max effort fastballs to get people out. He can move it around better and save stamina not trying to overthrow it.
it is. dude is playing the long game and thats smart. every person in the world has probably been telling him hes going to blow his arm out pitching at that high of a velocity as a starter. it will be curious how long Mizz from the Brewers continues to pitch this hard. (who is the Cy young favorite right now)

Paul skenes gets to be an MLB star! Dog walk the opponents. Retreat to a lockeroom that makes our houses look like a shack, then goes home to his pad and has Livy Dunne ride his cares away. If that’s loosing your mojo, where do I sign.

What the frick?
Some of yall are off the fricking rails with your regard to success and life as a whole.
- Hopefully you want to be the best at what you do, bar none.
- No matter how nice, a locker room will always only be a locker room
Livvy is a very pretty girl, but if you cope with goals and failures based on the girl you are “laying” with. She won’t be “laying” with you for long.

I read that his "splinker" hasn't been as effective this year.
He will adjust, retool his pitch selection, etc and be fine. He's a hard worker and very smart so he should figure it out soon.

He’s down from averaging 99 his rookie year to 97 this season. His last start his average velo was 96.5 which was the lowest in his career.
This should not be much of an much of an issue, considering his other pitches are good.

Maybe he’s following the trajectory of Tim Lincecum. A few stellar years and then pretty much average for rest of his career.

Livvy quite frankly isn’t big enough a gal to get him out of this

Who are the idiots that upvote this guy?

Imagine Him(Misiorowski signed with LSU in 2022), Grant Taylor (who got hurt and missed 2023), and Paul Skenes as Friday, Saturday and Sunday starters (no matter the order). That was potentially the best rotation in history of college baseball with Shores as a closer and Floyd and Cooper in long relief.

Why Paul skenes hasn’t given up on his non run supporting team is far beyond me
What do you suggest he do? He has zero ability to leave, and no leverage to force it. Are you suggesting he refuse to pitch?

I’m starting to think the pirates are tanking his starts to maybe keep his price low for resigning

Why anyone can look at his stats and not see he has improved from last year by pitching stats only is beyond me.
So, if you (who is obviously clueless to how this works) can see it, what makes you think the people who are paid huge money in baseball can't?
I won't even get into how ridiculous even the thought of "tanking his stats to keep his price low" is.

Jacob Misiorowski took his power like the Monstars did to the Looney Toons.

Or, quit getting laid.
Maybe dial it back a bit during the season.

He’s obviously can’t dominate the best hitters in the world every outing. But yes he’s noticeably getting hit more. Still top 5 in league . Wins are no longer the metric used to determine effectiveness.
