Had Paul Skenes lost his mojo?

He gave up 4 runs tonight in no decision . He has had some hard luck starts but ERA is 3. I hope he can figure some things out.

I'd say Paul's mojo is just fine in all aspects of his life.

You have to be pretty good to have a 3 ERA and have people questioning what’s wrong 
But can’t say his velocity dip isn’t a bit concerning. He’s down from averaging 99 his rookie year to 97 this season. His last start his average velo was 96.5 which was the lowest in his career.

Hard to repeat the numbers from last two years; hopefully he can get it back.
Does seem like his going thru the motions on the mound, not 100% effort,
He will make bank but he needs to start going deeper in games; pitch count has been a issue lately.

I certainly hope not. I hope he will be starting an August game in Pittsburgh against the Red Sox that I will be attending! He is a great Tiger!!

I'm pretty sure it's intentional. He doesn't need to throw max effort fastballs to get people out. He can move it around better and save stamina not trying to overthrow it.

Why Paul skenes hasn’t given up on his non run supporting team is far beyond me. Why anyone can look at his stats and not see he has improved from last year by pitching stats only is beyond me.
I’m starting to think the pirates are tanking his starts to maybe keep his price low for resigning.
