Chicken we have to fire the AD first!
Agreed.
Just don't see how anyone who can pass a sobriety test would let him hire another HC.
This has to be part of the discussion.

Chicken is right. The least expensive day to fire Kelly is today. It will cost more tomorrow. Once you figure it out a decision put off costs way more than you can imagine. We waited too long on Miles.

Assuming he and his staff cost $20 million per year...will LSU lose $20 million next year in lost ticket sales, parking sales, merchandise sales, concession sales, donations, etc if he is kept around? If BK is given another year, will a top notch OC and offensive staff want to come here knowing how hot BK's seat is? I am assuming the people in charge have crunched the numbers...
The longer you let BK fester the harder it becomes to build the program up as well so it’s not just next year’s revenue.
It’s additional years in the future as well.

Does his contract stipulate that he can’t be demoted?
Why pay him and get nothing from him.
Demote him or find another position and new HC actually oversee him and make him work?

You guys said all of this three years ago to fire O and hire Kelly! What guarantee is there that the next guy doesn't also fall on his face but with a $100 million buyout in three years? Do this again right now for the third time in nine years with this number and you just make all of us even bigger laughingstocks.

Not even joking... Petrino will be available and would absolutely take a year's pay at SEC coordinator salary without blinking
THIS is the type of outside the box thinking that we need
Our team may be lackluster, but the BK v. Petrino drama would be epic

We’ve already committed to the money we will give Brian Kelly. The only decision to make is do we want to stew in our own waste for another year of it or start paying another coaching staff now and clean things up.

There is a mathematical point where lost revenue will make it more worth it to just eat the buyout.
We should all be ready to do our part to get there faster. This team has been borderline unwatchable all year, and BK is a smug jackass. This plus the level of apathy being generated by the new mercenary era of CFB is going to sink the ship fast.
I’m done watching and supporting until there is regime change.

I see your logic but I think the only minor problem is that the people that are agreeing to pay the buyout and new staff don’t necessarily care about the exact profit margins of the athletic department. It would basically be Woodward begging for them to put up the money so that he can save his own arse

Totally agree with this and was trying to explain this to my son when he said they couldn't afford to get rid of him. They might not be able to afford to keep him, if the fans stop showing up and spending money on concessions, merchandise, tickets and donations.

What if we pay Kelly's buyout in Gamecoin?

Good answer.

Now would be a good time to make changes.
Fire Sloan, Davis, and Hankton today. Bring in Chief as a consultant to help the D figure out running QBs. If not Arkansas blows us out and we’re 6-6.
We can’t bring Kelly back. Next year will be a disaster after all the talent walks out the portal.

Might as well throw in Baker too now that our D is complete crap. Nothing will change tho as long as Kelly is pulling the strings.

Chicky, you also have to factor in the new staff payouts. Which is obviously the main concern when it comes to a buyout.
People confuse the buyout becoming cheaper with each year, but the fact of the matter is that it is paid out regardless if you fire him this year or 3 years from now. The crux of the buyout issue is always having to pay two parties.

Mistakes are expensive. So is not fixing them.
