No, not at all.
re: I hope Jay Leaves
Posted by des4271 on 4/26/26 at 10:52 am to geauxdaddy
Just flip that, Jay can stay and the mindless whiners can leave and I’ll be happy with a championship every other year.
It goes both ways for players and coaches, you are all or should be held accountable and should all get the credit and blame. But if I have to give out more blame for this year, it goes to the players, they are not performing. Some of that lies on Jay and staff missing on talent but the players also should have some pride about themselves and up their game and all I see is the same ho hum effort. I totally agree with what Jay is doing by playing the younger guys.
That pertains to every coach. You think Orgeron has any chance of winning a championship without Burrow, Brady and the host of other very talented players? Absolutely not. You people are bitching and criticizing a coach about a down year the year after winning a championship, that’s nonsense.

Yeah, the boom and home runs on the portal and he got championships and then got depleted by the draft so the next year is a struggle. Everyone needs to calm down, I’ll take a championship every other year with a so so year after it. Anybody who says no is crazy, they can go worship the likes of Miles who was consistent but only got one and oissed away plenty of other chances.
He’s just not a player that has proven to be extremely valuable at one position and I think that is what is killing him. He’s a specialist and there isn’t a tremendous amount of value to NFL teams in that.
Where I may agree some of the pitch selection should be better, I'm not agreeing that is the problem with passed balls and/or wild pitches. Blocking bad pitches is an effort and pride thing.
This right here. Pitch call inside to force hitting into the shift and the pitcher misses his spot badly resulting in an opposite field hit. There has been some really bad pitching this year but also bad hitting and fielding too. Not a good recipe for success.
Oh, probably the same guy that hit homeruns on talent evals like Skenes, White and all the other talent on those 2 championship teams. The problem is, the talent this year isn't living up to the production they had last year and for some they are struggling to handle the rigors of playing against SEC caliber teams. Jay will have them back up there next year once Verge commits more money to the program.
It isn't making an excuse for mediocrity, it's seeing the reality that this team has a very slim chance of going very far. This is what happens when you have to build a roster every year out of the portal. Sometimes you are going to hit a HR ( no pun intended ) with 2 championships with phenomenal talents like Skenes, White and many others and sometimes you will end up like this year. It's the nature of the beast.

Jay gets that benefit of the doubt when he's won 2 national championships. Who else at LSU has won 2 in the past 25 years? Saban didn't even do it.
So, is Jay 100% of the reason LSU won those 2 national championships? If you going to give him 100% of the blame for the bad seasons, you have to give him 100% of the credit for the good seasons.
re: We still going to deny that Jay missed on a lot of portal guys?

Yeah, the way this year's portal guys are panning out, they are not cutting it. That being said, he also brought in Skenes, White along with a long list of others previously and won 2 national championships. That's all that needs to be said.
Well, the NFL coaches and analysts know way more than the opinions of people on here.
That’s a shocker, could have seen her getting a lot of playing time next year.

I’ve watched them a couple times but I mentioned over the past several years. They still need more power hitters.

I’ve talked about this with some of my coworkers for years now. No power with too many slap hitters. A lot of the perennial powers have some big girls that can really hit and may not move as well as the little twigs for LSU but it’s a small field and can still be covered by less mobile girls. Guess what I’m trying to say is, I’d give up some of the defense for offense because those little girls are no match for the top tier pitching.
Where I agree he should have still fielded it, there's no reason Yorke shouldn't have been able to hit him in the glove, it was a poor throw.

Another reason to give him the benefit of the doubt is correct me if I’m wrong, he’s the only coach at LSU that has won multiple championships in the last 20 years.
When you win 2 titles in the short time you are there, you get the benefit of the doubt and rightfully so.
