IMHO the SEC objective is not to Expel LSU, but, rather for LSU to accept penalties and sanctions that will absolutely ruin this current season of LSU football. Fines, head coach suspension, banned from post season play and future immediate Expulsion as soon as the SEC finds some future crime committed by LSU.
The SEC wants a pound of flesh from Kiffin and LSU.
It's best for LSU to begin the process of exploring a pathway in which a smooth transition from the SEC can happen as soon as after this football season, IMHO. The SEC wants its pound of flesh from LSU, and LSU will never get a fair shake in the future from the SEC.
Establish a Committee that begins the planning of how to gracefully leave the SEC.
Why stay in a place where nobody likes you and everybody wants you kicked out? That's where LSU is right now.

I’m not sure LSU would be opposed to being named in a suit by the players. If anything it could prove them correct for trying not to defy the court order making the players eligible.

Upon 2nd thought they probably wouldn’t mind. They’d just sue the SEC for damages alleging they force LSU into a position of breaking the restraining order.

Between this quote and Thamel reporting on us officially closing the door on the two “pro” players I would suggest the implication is this was all a leverage play by the SEC and we have indicated we will sufficiently bend the knee behind closed doors.

All that is going on is the SEC is trying to establish that they have the "legal" authority to enforce its own rules. LSU isn't going anywhere.

No. LSU needs to be wrongfully discharged by SEC so they will have grounds for massive lawsuits. No need to leave peacefully without retribution. It will take time and money from the massive lawsuits to regain our footing.

I can’t imagine that the legal teams at these 15 other schools aren’t in the ears of their presidents letting them know they can be named personally in antitrust and collusion lawsuits.
And the response from sports media has not been positive for the SEC at all today. Lots of “You’re kidding me” and “What is going on” and “OMG. We’re still talking about this?”

They have damaged the LSU brand some though, because itbwas never being reported accurately around the country
