expect a lot of zone this weekend?

Auburn ran their QB 26 times last week because their passing game stinks. I would presume this would put us in a lot of zone coverage this weekend in anticipation of this?
Does that make sense?

Let the boundary CB play man and have the LB’ers and Safeties play zone.

Yes, going straight man against brown would be a death wish

Some of yall act like it’s impossible to let your corners play man while the rest of the defense like the lb’s and safeties can focus on limiting brown’s legs. Playing soft zone isn’t how you combat a running qb. Being aggressive, blitzing the hell out of them if you have thw players is much more effective. Let pj and Pickett man up on the boundary while the rest of the defense hunts

Do you know what straight man is? Where did i say they couldnt play the corners in man? Also, where did i say soft zone? Zones have blitzes too. Reading comprehension

I fully expect Baker to have a terrible plan.
It is like he completely forgets how to coach defense away from Tiger Stadium

People want to sounds superior so they assume. You have to be specific with your words to avoid the lashings

Keep in mind playing man with the corners means if 1 guy misses a tackle on an outside run by Brown he is off to the races with your corner running with a receiver downfield. Thats the risk you run.
I'm not saying I disagree at all we should be manning up with our corners more often than not, but there's a reason so many teams play zone against QBs that run a lot, its so the corners can go make a play if needed in the run game.

Yes. This will probably be the gameplan. Their only real success on offense has been Brown running the ball. But I would expect we play aggressive on 3rd down because it has been so successful for us.
You could play man with a spy but it's risky, this is what Perk allowed us to do. Our spy could either be Dottery or Benefield. But knowing Baker this year, he'll play soft zone.
Don't be too discouraged though, I don't think Brown is capable of "picking us apart" the way Chambliss did when we played zone.

Everyone on Tigerdroppings is a coverage expert all of a sudden.

No, we’re a Baker expert when it comes to mobile QB’ing

I like our dbs in man against their passing game and leave a spy for draws and inside runs by QB or rb. Make them beat us vertically. I don't think they can. I say this with the understanding that we will use multiple defenses as always.

This!! All the more reason to man up and be aggressive.

Who covers the inside guy on a 10 and out when the CB’s man runs an In?
What you are describing is a three across zone shallow and a two man zone deep. That is child’s play to pick that apart in the deep middle or by flooding any short zone.
Example: The offense could run one of the wideouts on a post. That takes two defenders with him, and no one is covering 15 yards downfield on the sideline.

Literally impossible. There can only be one boundary.
Edited to add
Unless of course we have PJ at the nickel and Auburn puts 2 WRs into the boundary. But for some reason people just think the boundary means the sideline.

I feel like we're going to see a shitload of Cooley up around the box after the snap.

At least mix things up and don’t show your coverage pre-snap 100% of the time.
