IMO, he will prove to better than O but if he doesn't win a natty by year say 4, then perhaps not. O did.

Les had a pretty strong run the first part of his tenure here - 3 SECW ('05, '07, and '11), 2 SEC ('07, and '11), 1 natty ('07). and 1 more title game ('11). That was through his first seven seasons. And Les was going head-to-head with both Saban and urban then. He was 3-3 vs both through '11.

I know, CBK is starting farther back in the pack than either.

I gave CBK an A- grade in Y1. He won the SECW; that was great. But the late season collapse vs A&M and UGA was ugly.

It's a new era of CFB with the portal and NIL. I think CBK's has done ok navigating thus far but our secondary looks really weak now. IOW, has to recruit better going fwd.

Both of those guys WON a National Championship at LSU.

Eat all the grass you want, talk like a trash compactor all you want, JUST WIN.

Kelly will end up being a stabilizer, but he won’t win a NC. Similar to his tenure at Notre Dame. Something about him just keeps his teams from winning the big games. The Alabama game last year is looking like a fluke so far.

Sure, I like him a lot when he wins.

I dislike that the losses always tend to be blowouts though outside his first game. No one should be blowing us out.

A fair criticism would be that he doesn’t have his hand on the pulse of the team at all times. A coach should know when his team is slacking or lacking during the week and make adjustments. He admitted after the FSU game to having no idea about where the team was.

It amazes me how so many think Kelly is some sort of phenom.

He’s 0-5 in BCS/NY6/playoff games (0-7 if you count the 2 teams he left before the bowl game). He’s average at best when it comes to recruiting, AND he played a huge part in a student losing their life. A leopard can’t change his spots, is he a good coach? Sure. Is he going to win a natty at LSU? I personally don’t see it happening. I see him stabilizing this program more or less like Kirk ferentz (sp) has done at Iowa.

He may have qualities that are better than CEO and miles, but sorry bud he’s not better than them yet from a resume perspective. Win a national championship and then we’ll talk. You’re graded on championships here and he knew that accepting the job

Let’s revisit this after Kelly has had the program for a full decade.

Of course. But you tried to shite on Miles for losing high profile games, when that has literally been Brian Kelly's biggest criticism.

I know it’s a new staff and NIL has changed things, but this staff isn’t recruiting at an elite level. I hope that changes.

His recruiting classes are pretty close to where they have been in the past.

#5 recruiting last year according to rivals and on3, his first full recruiting cycle as head coach at LSU.

Top 3 in transfer portal both years at LSU.

This year we will likely finish in the top 10, next year Louisiana is loaded. The majority will stay home and we will be in the top 5 again.

I've seen some of what Notre Dame folks warned us against, that he can't win the big games. The Florida State games both last season and this and the collapse at the end of the season with the losses to the Aggies and Georgia. Offsetting that was the Alabama win. Most worrisome is his lack of crucial recruiting. The defensive backs having to come from the portal two years in a row at DB university is not a good thing.

His pluses are more organized than any previous head coaches and also smarter. Loyalty to the assistant coaches may hurt him but to be admired none the less. Staying on Daniel's arse during the game another plus in my opinion.

Bro, if you think Miles and Kelly are even in the same tier of coaching, then I don’t know what to tell you. When Miles left LSU, how many good schools wanted him? ZERO.

Sick of hearing "look" and "complete the process". If the player is good enough play him. For instance Womack should be playing but all CBK says is "Look he is a great player but he needs to complete the process" WTF. Best 22 players need to be on the field at all times.

Dislikes… never, ever, lose to the Faggies.

When he wins a Natty, then he will pass those other two.
He has every advantage.
LSU brand is strong. Thanks Saban, Miles, and Orgeron.

He has a distinct advantage with Portal and NIL.
Getter Done!

In addition, Saban is weaker, probably getting ready to retire. That should make Kelly's chance of winning even greater.

Complete the process probably means “learn how do do something besides pass rush”

No I don’t like him as the coach at LSU. He is nice enough, smart enough and pretty good with the press. He doesn’t have that killer mentality. To me his recruiting is mediocre compared to currently 5 SEC teams ahead of us. I think he has the Lesticles Loyalty fault gene.

I think he's good but he needs to recruit better and seeing Big Game Brian show up at times is worrying.

i feel like at the VERY least, BK will have us at or near 10 wins a year as long as hes here. he's just really solid in all areas.
