His “players” he recruited for this year were terrible. He’s Tiger Bait.

Frank has always had the gift of gab, knows what to say at what time to get the desired result. Just took many awhile to figure that out.

"Bleeding Purple and Gold" is a cute thing to say, but has no baring on who you play or work for. Does anyone here "bleed" their employer's colors such that you wouldn't take a similar job for a different employer for much more money?
How about a Louisiana boy playing for an out of state school willing to pay him twice what LSU is offering?

Ok. Now do Kiffin.
Some of you are too dramatic.

A coach took a job that pays him more money. It's not that deep.
What colors players and coaches "bleed" is whichever school gives them the best opportunity.
Too many on this board think coaches are completely loyal to a particular school. That's nonsense.
Coaching is a career, and coaches will go to the best job for them.
A kid in college may bleed P&G, but adult coaches have their career to manage. Blind loyalty, to any school, isn't the best way to advance that career.
Did Saban bleed P&G at LSU? Did he bleed crimson at Bama? Of course not, but he did ok.

Make no mistake about it. Frank said those things cause he was lobbying for a job with the new staff. He wanted to endear himself to the fans and create a sense of " hes one of us and he loves us we have to keep him" situation. That didnt work. Ole Miss saw an opportunity to get a good recruiter for the NO area, fill their RB coaching position, and try to stick it to LSU. Its not hard to figure out. IN the end Frank cares about Frank.

why is this so hard for some to comprehend…

There are lots of high-quality players out there so we shouldn't worry. We need a quality system and coaching to take good talent to great. They may get some type of advantage this year but that is it. We will be fine.

pretty much sums up all coaches, and we having the biggest, shiniest example of that as our new HC

I’m really really happy we moved on from the Brian Kelly, Frank Wilson, Scott Woodward era. All fat lazy slobs who were now coasting on prior success and being “Louisiana guys” (not BK)

I like Frank as a person and know him on a personal level (have pics but don't want to post
) but Frank did NOTHING to make LSU want him as the next head football
coach. Frank is a good recruiter but his running back coaching left a lot to be desired (rotation, explosiveness etc). I wish him well at Ole Miss.

A coaching job is like any other job. If your current job changes and you're offered a job to keep you with the company but you don't like it, then you will seek another job elsewhere, even if it's with your competitor. It's business, not usually personal. Unfortunately in sports, it's personal and much more emotional. Time to move on from Wilson, he was really not a good coach at LSU and Kiffin knew it. He tried to find a way to keep Wilson in a new role, but it just didn't work out, a mutual parting.
