Dan Fitzgerald enters his ninth season at DBU and serves as the Patriots' Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Regarded as one of the top recruiters in the country, Baseball America rated Fitzgerald as the No. 7 assistant coach in the nation in 2018, while D1Baseball.com ranked him as the 17th best recruiter in college baseball in 2016. In a survey of 90 head coaches conducted by Baseball America in 2020, Fitzgerald was rated No. 7 on a list of assistant coaches from across in the nation that will one day make the best head coach.
Since he arrived at DBU in 2013, the Patriots have landed a league-high 58 players on the Missouri Valley All-Conference Team that were recruited and signed by Fitzgerald. On the national level, seven Patriots have earned All-American honors, while seven freshman have been tabbed as Freshman All-Americans.

He was talking about the same staff position.
For the 3rd assistant he wanted someone who could
1) recruit from the big 12 to the east coast.
2) work with infielders
3) coach 3rd base
ETA: Sorry meant to say 3rd paid coach not third assistant.

As for his infield instruction, im ignorant to his help there.
What i can say, is the dallas baptist fielding percentage in
2021 was 5th in conference and 82nd nationally
2019 was 2nd in conference and 71st nationally
2018 was 1st in conference and 34th nationally
2017 was 5th in conference and 187th nationally
2016 was 4th in conference and 65th nationally
2015 was 2nd in conference and 32nd nationally

Yes. He has been recruiting really good players to Dallas Baptist. He should do great at LSU. Dallas Baptist is a very good baseball program.

It’s funny bc as soon as Matt read Kendall’s tweet, he said “I just heard the same and confirm”.
