I thought it was targeting but I’m not running around town saying how dirty Dallas Turner is and how it was essentially a mafia hit on our QB.

Adults need to grow up

Obviously you haven't watched other plays against other teams where he took the opportunity to lay a malicious hit on a QB.

If it was one play where he targeted, sure, give him the benefit of the doubt. But it's not just one play - he plays like he grew up with Suh and Fairley posters on his wall.

The officials sent a clear message earlier in the game when four of them saw JD5 get horse collared in the middle of the field after a big run and didn't throw a flag.

That was the SEC's cue to Saban and company that "if you can actually catch him, hurt him. We got your back. Again"

The only way they were going to get him was a hit in the pocket. Deed done. SEC happy. Life goes on and they will do it to another player.

It was classic targeting with the helmet under the chin and a full drive into the turf.

Exactly. You ram you helmet into someone’s chin trying to hurt them.

I sure would have loved to see the way the game would have ended with Daniels in there. I still think we lose because of our shitty defense, probably ends up 42-38, something like that. Because Alabama went up 14 after the INT and we would not have stopped them just like we didn't. So yeah, 42-35, 42-38 something like that, not that it matters!

3 losses and we give up 50 average. Terrible

None of that is in the criteria for targeting.

Defense was arse all day, but offense sputtered and that was it once JD got hurt.

3rd Q: Will campbell's hold on a huge run; ultimately led to the LSU Punt tied 28-28. Shitty punt too by the way.

Alabama marches & scores 35-28

4th Q: Tipped ball leads to Jayden Daniels INT

Alabama with short field, scores 42-28

We know what happens next. But lets just say, he marches us down and scores. 42-35.

Does bama just run out the clock and go conservative with all the runs? Because our defense made a solid stop (12 plays, 50 yards, missed FG). Then we got the ball back.

What does that have to do with Alabama thinking the only way they could win the game was to hurt JD?

LSU had the ball so that would have been cut to 7.

Why are you assuming that? LSU’s two previous possessions prior to JD getting hurt ended in a punt and an interception.

LSU D could’ve stopped them despite not doing a great job of it earlier.

LSU’s defense stopped Alabama’s offense once the entire game and it was on the very first drive.

Throw in some chaos and the game gets tied quick. This really isn’t hard to comprehend. You think you made a good point, but did not.

You are throwing in a ton of hypotheticals as assumptions, none of which were likely.

Because they hadn’t really stopped us consistently either.

If NOTHING changes other than JD is able to get up after that hit:

15 yard penalty for roughing. JD could easily have lead us to a score on that drive. Now we’re down 7. Let’s say that takes about 3 min.

Bama gets ball back and does exactly what they did on their next drive. They get the ball, drive down to our 28, and stall out. They miss the FG. This is exactly what happened.

JD would get the ball back, on the 28, down 7.

I like his chances. Doesn’t mean we win, but it is not far fetched.

Removing Daniels guaranteed it though.

Good grief. Y’all need to get over it. If he played for LSU and smacked Milroe like that, y’all would defending him to no end. Daniels took a hard hit and got a concussion. It happens. Want to be mad at someone? Be mad at our defense for putting the weight of the entire program’s success on Daniels’s shoulders.

Did the score change from that point?

It was the only way to secure a victory, but it worked out that way.

He 100% would have been ejected for targeting. The dumbass ref even announced everything needed to rule it targeting, he just didn’t do it.

Except for the two drives before the hit when they forced a punt and then got an interception.

You are assuming Alabama does the same thing offensively when they are up 7 instead of 14, which isn't likely.

I’m not assuming anything. I’m saying that at that point in the game it may have been unlikely, but it was not much of a stretch. With Jayden in, and two drives, there’s a chance.

Without him, there wasn’t. I was just commenting on the post that said we couldn’t at that point. 10 min left with ball, down 14, you just need one stop or a missed FG

And yes, if Saban was up by 7 with 4 min left and a stalled drive on the 28, I believe he tries the FG to go up 10 just like he did to try to go up 17

It was the only bad block I remember from Campbell all night.

Dallas Turner had free runs at Daniels three times. Campbell was beaten like a drum that night.

He made an excellent point. Bama was starting to run away with the game. They had no reason to target JD. If it happened in the first half you MIGHT have a point.

This reminds me of the Devin White controversy. As if Bama needed to cheat to get White disqualified. When White played Bama beat the living shite out of us.
