Also, the UNC players just seem super douchey.
UNC has been one of the most classy programs under Forbes. Couldn’t disagree more

All of those teams were playing much better than OU entering the NCAA Tournament
no they weren't Ole miss went 19-20 before losing first game of the SEC tournament.

Not really. That ole miss team was preseason top 5 with tons of talent and got healthy and hot before the end of the regular season

Has the phrase, "Getting hot at the right time", ever been more appropriate than now for OU?
Fresno St.
Ole Miss
LSU last year probably
You have to be joking, right?
LSU may not have had the star bats that 2023 had, but they had 2 legit aces in Anderson and Eyanson, and the playoff format is set up to need 3 wins in a regional, 2 in a super, 3 the first week of Omaha, and 2 in the finals.
Anderson and Eyanson both did what they needed to, and the only reason they both didn't go 4-0 in that stretch was because we had a rain delay in Eyanson's first game in Omaha. We had Evans, Cowan and Shores in the bullpen, and we never really needed to find someone unexpected beyond them to win a game... we NEVER pitched at a disadvantage.
And regarding the bats, you had Jones as the leader and elite slugger, you had Milam as the clutch guy getting red hot to close the year, and you had Curiel quietly steady all season at a high level, with other guys who occasionally stepped up.
If anything, that team is the blueprint on how to win the title.

Similar to Ole Miss a few years ago. It continues to reinforce my opinion that nearly all SEC teams have the talent to win it all and what separates them is the coaches who know how to make them peak at the right time. You have to be willing to suffer some losses early to let your high upside guys work through their struggles and develop
Somewhat agree, but the players have to make the plays at the right time. Coaching is important, but the guys on the field have to be clutch. And that is exactly what has happened with OU.
So far. I am sticking with NC, but OU has earned their spot. This is good baseball.

Fresno St. Ole Miss LSU last year probably

Agree 100%.
Our last year's team was 53-15, 19-11 in SEC, and was a national seed. Nothing like Fresno, OM, or OU.
The advantage A & E gave us was almost unfair.

Reminds me of Ole Miss a few years back. Weren't the Rebels the cellar dweller, lost early in SEC Tourney, then won it all? And there are other examples likely already cited and to be cited in this thread.
That's the way these things go--also remember in the NCAA basketball tourney, two of the biggest upsets ever, N.C. State over Houston in 1983 and Villanova over Georgetown, when Villanova hit over 70 percent from the field.

OM was preseason top-5. They incurred some injuries and had an up-n-down season. Last team in the field, won the Miami regional and the USM super. Not quite the same as OU.

Ole miss has the same amount of losses as OU did this year. I realize they were preseason top 5 but they looked bad at the end of the season until regionals. Probably due to injuries though.

UNC opened 1st inning with four consecutive hits before OU hit the first out. Followed by a walk. Tough out, indeed.

WEN - Chinese word for “when”
I’m FWY but you’re right-I’d rather them than Georgia, I just can’t get over that little league ballpark, it’s rent free space in my caw.

OU is battle tested. They’ve seen the best arms in the country. They rolling.
Posted on 6/20/26 at 4:02 pm to GRIZZ
Its over. Nobody is beating them twice. They are this years that effin team. They also are very rich so if they decide to put money into baseball they will be dominant
Posted on 6/20/26 at 4:26 pm to Tifway419
You want to talk about baseball trauma that will last for years to come: GA Tech playing at home had OU down 8-2 and 7-3 and failed twice to put them away. Tech had not had a team like this in like 20 years. Only solace for them is OU also took out UGA. I don’t see anyone stopping them.
