The fact that this got 55 downvotes just tells you how inept this board can be.

What a crazy run. They have the most money in NIL to spend on baseball

They have a mega donor giving them 15m a year.

We better step up

This is retarded

That was one of the least talented teams to win the CWS in a good while

Cam Johnson running around with the trophy and he hasn’t pitched a game since 5/31. Not sure if he was hurt but has a pitcher taken a bigger fall than going from a Friday night starter to not even completing an inning in the post season?

Cam certainly crashed out once again this season and if you told me he would go from friday night starter to not even really pitching all postseason and OU would win a title I would have laughed very hard at you earlier this season.

They got some absolutely heroic pitching this postseason (And bats that were never really there showing up in a huge way) from a bunch of freshmen of all places. OU is a really interesting case study of "getting super hot at the right time" situation this year because they were not a particularly good team even as the season was ending - losing their last 4 regular season SEC series, finishing sub .500 against SEC teams (14-17) lost first game to our sad team in the SECT, a 32-21 final record and limping into the NCAAt as a lower 2 seed

This isnt exactly 2008 Fresno St levels of coming out of nowhere, but its certainly a massive turnaround.

Who cares? LSU fans pretended Eddie Yamin was yogi Berra last year and he didn’t even play in a game.

Let the kid enjoy the win

Congrats to Cam and all o fhis OU teammates. What a run. They have a fantastic coach and he certainly got them playing hot at the right time.

Forgettable college World Series. I wonder how bad the ratings are going to be once they are released.

Considering it was competing with world cup games it was never going to be great regardless of who was playing in it

Really enjoyed that wild run OU made. OU finally broke a long curse in men's sport, and the championship stays in the SEC.

Yep.

But even Fresno was a top 25 team to start the season and somewhat got hot late entering the NCAA Tournament (having won 6 straight to reach the NCAA Tournament). Ole Miss had a similar run, but they had somewhat gotten hot just before the tournament too. Also, the path around them was easier because they were able to avoid a lot of national seeds all the way to the championship.

Not only was OU "cold" coming into the tournament, but they had to run through a gauntlet to win the championship. They played 10 straight games against top 15 teams. 8 of which were against top 8 national seeds. They went 9-1 in that stretch, after having won only 1 series all season against a NCAA Tournament team.

I'm pretty sure if you ask the OU players and staff years from now if they thought they had any realistic chance to win the NC entering the tournament they would all tell you no (if they were being honest)

Who cares what the ratings were. I didn’t care in the 90’s nor do I care now. It won’t make me like the sport anymore than I always did.
