The liability part must’ve gone over your head
No way they are letting someone tryout without a liability form so point is moot

Post the proof of his contract and compensation? They are not paid. How many times do you have to hear it
You post proof of Wright or Harris’ signed contract? None of us have the signed contracts. That’s a ridiculous requirement. You are just being obtuse.

Yes you can. Those are just tryouts.

Per the CBA, he also received per diem and lodging costs…so he got paid.
The NCAA ruled in the past that attending NFL tryout camps or NBA summer league does not make you ineligible, even if you receive per diem.

From what I read of the lawsuit Hutson received meals, injury insurance, and lodging which shockingly isn’t considered compensation but necessary expenses. Crazy how that little loophole works. But it’s all fine. Totally different guys!!

The guy signed a contract, he received compensation and got to audition. They drew the line to help the kid out.
They drew another line to help the European basketball players who played in their professional leagues.
They drew a line to help G league guys.
The ncaa and SEC has arbitrarily helped some kids but not others.

Here's my favorite part of all this when they want to compare Harris.
Zxavian Harris signed an unguaranteed 3yr - $3million contract with $0 signing bonus with the Saints in may. That contract was dependent upon him making the roster meaning all he was getting during training camp was the per diem, expenses, etc. His actual contract didn't kick in until he made the roster.
With me so far? Harris also hat foot surgery in March which is why he went undrafted. That injury kept him sidelined (NFI List) the entire camp meaning Harris never stepped foot on an NFL practice field in an NFL jersey. Once he was waived his contract was trash w/ $0 paid out.
It's all absurd.

I believe the title of the contract is called Tryout Agreement and Waiver. It is definitely a legal, binding contract.

But playing 4 years does. Hutson was ineligible until he was granted a TRO.

Exactly absolutely absurd. I love the selective outrage of “going against the SEC” too. Oh yes- the institutions of college sports have been totally infallible thus far

Rookie mini campers don’t get contracts. They sign medical waivers.
Hester covered this.

How about Ole Miss QB. NCAA said no and SEC didn't say anything about punishing Ole Miss.
He didn't enter the NFL Draft or sign a contract with an NFL franchise so it's completely irrelevant to this argument.

You get paid for mini camp bro

It’s actually not. He applied for a medical redshirt and got denied (therefore ruled ineligible) he then got a TRO from a judge and returned to play. NFL guys got denied (therefore ruled ineligible) got a TRO and attempting to return to play. It’s actually the same scenario. Just because the situations are different in how they got there doesn’t make the scenario any different from a legal or rule breaking standpoint.

The problem is that while the NCAA has ruled that it is okay, the SEC has banned any player who has signed a contract with a pro team. As many have stated - the agreement and waiver are contracts with the team. The SEC didn’t clarify or specify the type of contracts - it just says they cannot have signed a contract with a pro team
