On August 25th, the SEC announced a new policy, which reads in part (teams are) "not permitted to have an athlete on its roster who has: Signed a contract with an NFL...team"
Fact: Cole Hutson participated in rookie mini camps with both the Cowboys and Browns.
Fact: All players participating in mini camps must sign a waiver with the NFL team to do so.
Fact: A waiver is a contract, in this case, a contract between Cole Hutson and the Cowboys.

You’re a fricking dumbass. These contracts are negotiated by the players union. Everybody gets some form of compensation during even mini camps, they have signed papers somewhere.

Nobody attends any of these camps without some kind of an agreement in place. These guys aren’t trying out on their own dime.

Any human being that is invited to a mini camp with an NFL team gets a daily per diem plus expenses at bare minimum.

I'll file the subpoena tomorrow and post it here next week.
(just kidding - I am not a lawyer and not suing anyone) Although I'm pretty sure if they were sued, documents would surface showing payment of $179/day for 6 days (over $1,000) from the Cowboys and Browns, and 2 contracts signed releasing those NFL teams from liability of he gets hurt running around in his uniform and pads.

It's the actual text of the new policy the SEC publicly stated and is using to single out LSU and LSU alone. There are no other new bylaws or rules passed, only the public statement about "signed a contract...with an NFL team"
