I think most schools would have gone the route Texas Tech did, and I think the backlash would be the same. But that doesn't make any of it right.

Uhhh we are already hated because of Lane and Wade. If Sorsby did end up at LSU it would absolutely be 100x worse than what tech is receiving right now.

He's going to be this generations version of Sherwood Blunt. A wealthy supporter of a "second tier" Texas program whose renegade aspirations to elevate Tech to perennial title contender (all really in a quest to best Texas and Texas A&M) is going to create a mess for the sport(s) as a whole.

This dude is delusional. We’ve disciplined multiple players over the years and kicked some off the team for fighting, smoking weed, etc… including one of the best players to ever suit up.

Dude's worth $30 BILLION and puts his money where his mouth is. He makes T. Boone Pickens at Okie State look dirt poor. Campbell is directly responsible for TT's recent success in recruiting and the women's SB team playing in the WCWS championship game 2 years in a row.
Had Sorsby signed with any other school (ND, ALA, USC, tOSU, MIA, etc...) , they too would be getting heat from the national media. Kid broke the golden rule of sports gambling, he bet on his own team. Every other person who did this was banned from the game.

PSU?!? Really! That program's admin and School Admin were gutted.
Players getting arrested are school/conf rules and are punished accordingly. They don't get off freely.
