College athletes are pros now cause they are getting paid to play. So what's the big deal of an NFL playing in college as long as he got cut and has a year left I college to play

The rational thing would be to allow the players to refund their small signing bonus to the NFL teams and take their year of eligibility then try again next season with whatever NFL team they’re with retaining rights

But instead we gotta go soap opera mode and pretend we have the Honey Badger in his prime suiting up for LSU again after a few years on the Chiefs

No, but this year with the Class of 2022 is a very specific situation where those players were screwed over by the NCAA. They declared for the draft thinking that was their only option. In actuality, they were going to have an extra year of eligibility. These guys didn’t know that because the NCAA misled them.

I understand all of that. But that’s not what your post is about. Your post is saying that we shouldn’t consider any of these guys pro players. If it’s your opinion that they aren’t considered pros until they play in a regular season game, then every year you would have a ton of players that go through NFL training camp, then try to return to college a week before the season starts.

Four years or the new 5 for 5 rule?

Because if they knew that info before declaring, they may have never left.

To me, going to training camp with a NFL team for a few weeks and then getting cut before the season even starts doesn’t exactly constitute being an “NFL player”. That’s a dramatic exaggeration. These guys never took a single snap during an actual NFL game.

Wright and Harris should be eligible.
I've been saying this for the longest. Crazy how so many grown arse men are crying like babies acting like 5 year NFL vets are coming back to college ball. These dudes were freaking practicing. Preseason games themselves are nothing but exhibition games. Think of them as joint scrimmages.

No you won't have this happening in the future because now everyone knows the 5 for 5. So next year if you go in the draft after your 4th year and you get cut you can't come back because you left of your own free will. You knew your eligibility wasn't up but you left anyway. That's not the case with the 2022 grads and THAT is the crux of this entire debate. Personally I could care less if a player left early and didn't make the team and came back to college but if you want to make it that if they leave they lose their opportunity to come back fine but at least they are able to make that choice. The 2022 class wasn't.
