Extensions only mean the buyout is higher. Doesn’t mean the person is not attainable.
Lane can also just sit in the booth with Atkins and discuss strategy.
He doesn’t necessarily have to be in the field.
He doesn’t necessarily have to be in the field.
Bama would have to fire him and pay a huge buyout or he resigns the second the game is over.
Not much time to slip in before Lane signs with LSU.

Ehhhh. I’d have to disagree. It is not easy playing on the road in this league. Lane has been through it already.

Kiffin is battle tested in the SEC.
Not sure there is a better “available“ candidate.

Verge isn’t the only person working on this.
You really think LSU and all the boosters paying for this will only have one person working on this?
They run successful multi-billion dollar businesses.

LSU doesn’t “pay” Ole Miss anything. LSU has nothing to do with the agreements with their (OM) coaches.
They can offer Kiffin and pay his OM buyout and any buyouts for anyone he wants to bring, but anyone not coming with him who is not retained by OM will have to be paid in full by OM.
Also, Kelly needs to actively seek employment and show proof or his buyout could be in jeopardy as well.

What's the delay then? Finalization of his contract? Are you sure he's coming to LSU?
The regular season is not over. He would have to resign or rework the contract.
Once the game is over, something will break.
Same on CC board. Damn Ole Miss fans.
re: Thank god we spent weeks looking like fools only to -pay the full 54 mill.

But BK also has to actively seek employment.
I am sure he will enjoy interviewing at every directional school that opens up.

LSU didn’t try to weasel out of anything. They just formally fired him the other day. BK filed a lawsuit before the official termination seeking to know how he was being fired. LSU never filed anything official concerning “for cause”.
LSU was paying him until they officially fired him. BK now has to work, settle, or forfeit the buyout if he doesn’t actively seek employment.

Same as Miles. He eventually came back and settled.
BK should have taken the 35 with no strings.

Kelly now has to actively seek employment or settle for a lower lump sum with no strings.
Balls in BKs court.

Who was it ragging on LSU for not hiring a consulting firm?
Heupel with LA. Skill players would kill it here.
What about a one month rental agreement until the property closes?
Kelly is trying to rush the process. But the contract allows LSU to dictate the termination date, which is when the other clauses kick in.
Kelly is also trying to speed up the process.
The contract states LSU can future date his termination date in the notification, which apparently happened sometime after the BOS meeting. LSU can date it right before hiring Lane.
BK is trying to force the issue by going to court.

He most likely resigned.
Same thing we are waiting for Kiffin to do.

He signed a contract that says LSU can future date the termination in the notification.
If he didn’t want that, he shouldn’t have signed the contract.
