It's very true. But LSU players could warm up to him.

To be fair the Notre Dame players knew Freeman. The LSU players don't know Kelly. Apples and oranges

This is ridiculous. Marcus Freeman already knows the Notre Dame players and Brian Kelly is walking into a completely new situation.

Gee, I wonder why?

Did someone think they were making a clever point with that video/this post?

Freeman was already on staff so all the players already know him. There's probably just a few, if any, LSU players on the roster that have ever had an interaction with BK before this. So no shite

Whoever made that video and considers the two situation to be the same is an absolute moron.

The players always want the popular assistant
Wait till adversity hits, is Freeman ready for the pressure that the golden dome will thrash down upon him
We about to find out!

Guys, Breaking News: Notre Dame just hired a cheerleader as their head football coach!

Looks to me like the difference is one is all hype and cheer and the other is a "professional" cool and calculated team that is ready to go to work.

This is nothing more than comparing an intern who just got hired on to his first entry level professional job and an established successful CEO of a billion dollar company.

If we wanted a chest bumping ra ra guy we would have kept Orgeron.

One truth is that Kelly and Freeman have different personalities and ways to connect with players and each team probably needs that change of pace. We've seen ourselves that being a cheerleading coach can go spectacularly well or terribly awful. I wish Notre Dame well but we'll see how they do with a first time head coach who's buddies with players.

LSU players loved Archer when he took over. He was the prior DC. He was mid-30s.

He went 10-1-1 in his first year.

Marcus Freeman is a good coach about to be dropped into a weak arse Notre Dame schedule. Everybody might not agree on how Brian Kelly left but he wanted to take on the best in the business.

The ND players remind me when the LSU players were excited about O getting the job.
