He did circle back and list lack of creativity as an issue but none of it matters until u lock in competitively…”have a competitive edge”

Kelly is not wanting to single out any one coach, but both his OC and DC lacked creativity and adjusting.

Yes, he's saying hes trying to be considerate of Perkins at the next level. Get the frick out of here

Someone needs to tell him sitting in zone coverage is not helping his fricking draft stock regardless. Nfl pays pass rushers

It's not singling them out if you're answering a specific question.

I know the coach I had would, run you till the competitive edge was running out of your arse.

Wouldn't hurt that staff to take a few up the hill.

He’s 212 lbs he’s not going to get paid very well rushing the QB in the NFL at that weight. He’d better learn to be dynamic and multiple if he wants to get paid

BUT that doesn’t mean we don’t start utilizing his strengths better here in the short time while he’s getting adjusted. He will get better at the linebacker stuff with reps, but we desperately need him being aggressive because that’s when he excels

I heard that, and while Kelly and the staff have lot to work on, lets not turn this into Joe Namath 1969 Superbowl guarantee.

He added it in at the end of a sentence talking about how many kids were going on their 1st road trip to "beat the heck out of Florida State"; in a contextual way.

While he probably could have used a better choice of words; it certainly wasn't some bold "I DECLARE WE WILL BEAT FLORIDA STATE" statement.

He is obviously still tapping that real estate chick and not fully into football. That is what millions will do for you and 10 year deals.

He said they have to balance what’s best for Perkins in the future along with what is best for LSU right now and they’ve already started to look to adjust his role within the defense.

What the hell does this mean though?
Him playing ML isn't what's best for LSU or for his NFL future.

All that video of Perkins playing the "spy" on Travis isn't going to get him drafted and it sure as he'll didn't help LSU on Sunday.

It's not like there is a recording or any... wait. Please tell me he didn't just openly deny it. He ain't in South Bend anymore.

Yes it is, unless he puts on 30 lbs of muscle and keeps his same bend and speed he’s not a Micah Parson or Von Miller in the league.

One thing I noticed on my rewatch was every time LSU did line Perkins up on the edge, the ball came out quickly. Hell, on one of FSU's TDs, Perkins gets around the edge almost untouched. FSU had a plan and Travis executed it to perfection.

I don't know what the answer is. I almost think Perkins would benefit from playing a role similar to Brooks but you know teams are going to test his coverage skills if you do that, but I'm not convinced he couldn't handle his own in that regard. He looks uncomfortable in the box but so did Speights who has played a ton of football. Maybe House sucks at coaching LBs?

But you are being 10 million dollars a year bro.

You need to know what to expect even the unusual and correct it before it happens.

I guess that's a fair assessment of me, doesn't change the facts on the field does it.

How would you address the situation coach?
