CBS Sports Names SEC Coach And Coordinator Of The Week After Wild Saturday

CBS Sports has named its SEC Coach and Coordinator of the Week following a wild Week 7 that saw three of the conference's top-ranked teams suffer losses.

Auburn head coach Alex Golesh earned SEC Coach of the Week honors after leading the Tigers to a 27-24 road upset over No. 1 Georgia.

The victory snapped Georgia's 53-game winning streak against unranked opponents and ended Auburn's nine-game losing streak to the Bulldogs.

Golesh, who is in his first season at Auburn, has the Tigers sitting at 4-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play heading into Saturday's home matchup against LSU.

Meanwhile, Tennessee defensive coordinator Jim Knowles was named SEC Coordinator of the Week after the Volunteers' dominant defensive performance in a 26-10 victory over No. 6 Alabama.

Knowles' defense held the Crimson Tide to just 201 total yards and 10 points while recording five sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and two interceptions.

Alabama entered the game averaging nearly 480 yards and more than 44 points per contest.
