Bo is going to wreck shite with the talent we have on defense.

I'm a bit surprised at the cool reception. I guess not totally surprised, it's the rant after all. But he's going to be really good.

I can see the argument that his salary is too high, but still a discount from Aranda for what I believe will be just as good results, if not better in some cases.

I would say that they do it more. In fact, while we talk about how much Brady brought from the Saints, the fact is that he actually brought a lot of those concepts with him from William & Mary.

exactly. a lot of the exotic offenses start at the FCS level to supplement talent.

Does anyone know what scheme Bo runs now? I know what he did while at LSU, but did not follow if he evolved his defense after leaving LSU.

let's stop bitching about the money

it's a 20% cut from what we were paying and it's not like Bo isn't accomplished

LSU should be paying towards the top of the DC market given the proud Defensive tradition

This is good for tiger nation. Pelini is self sufficient and won’t need anything from O.

He must have been O's first and only choice, leaving LSU with little negotiating leverage.

Are we the only major college program that handles hires this way? It's ridiculous.

An Attacking Defense with Derek Stingley one side of the cornerback position for 2 more years. I guess we'll find a way to be successful.

I think that Coach O has earned the right to be trusted. If he didn't think Pelini can take our defensive talent and use it effectively, he wouldn't have made the hire. So let's stop being typical moronically critical LSU fans.

Big time hire...we are in good hands imo. He also was incredibly consistent at Nebraska with 9 or 10 wins every year. They weren’t doing that immediately before he got there or since he left.

Pelini had the best defense in LSU history in 2011. Went undefeated through the regular season and the SEC championship game. The loss in the BCS game was not on Pelini. LSU's defense held Alabama without a touchdown in that game until it basically didn't matter (and without a touchdown in the regular season matchup in Tuscaloosa).

you're about 4 years off

I’m sure this is not the popular opinion but I don’t like the hire, but at the same time I trust Coach O so hopefully I’m proven wrong.
