That missed FG on a Friday night in Ames is a pretty big moment.

In my opinion Bo Rein would not have been any more successful than Jerry Stovall .
He was a Veer guy . He learned under Holtz who was also a Veer guy. We retained his entire staff, installed his offense , and ran it for two years under Stovall . He would not have out recruited Stovall . Say what you want about Stovall , but that guy could recruit . When Arnsparget replaced Stovall we were loaded with talent
Stovall’s best year came after we ditched the Veer and went to a more pro style attack under Mack Brown as OC.
Also, when a long term coach is replaced in college ... it is about a sixteen percent success rate with the next guy. Every school says the same stuff ... we have greatest ... fan support , recruiting base , facilities , academic support and on and on and on. 16 percent success rate. And that includes Alabama , Georgia , Nebraska , Tennessee. Everybody. 16 percent 1 out of six
I actually think with the events that happened ... the mistake was not giving Stovall a little longer to sort of grow into the role . Virginia tech did that with a head coach of their own and he wound up coaching for twenty nine years

I thought he sprained it at the end of the wisky game?
Rumors were that Les was still running full pad/contact scrimmages in the week leading up to the Wisc game and that is where LF got hurt.

If Fess Irvin makes 2 free throws to put LSU up 3 over Indiana in 1986 regional title game and LSU holds on!to win. Head to Final Four in New Orleans.

1) what if Saban stayed
2) what if Les Miles would have hired an OC and let him run a modern offense

What if Saban turns the Dolphins down and stays at LSU?
How many National Championships would LSU had won?

I don’t want to “what if”” LSU football because I am VERY HAPPY with where we are right now. If any of those other things had happened, we wouldn’t be here now. So, basically, I’m good

Coach Mac goes into the ‘79 season already told by Dietzel it will be his last...
LSU lost to #1 USC 17-12...#1 Bama 3-0 and #8 Florida State 24-19...
Had LSU been able to pull them games out does Dietzel keep Mac?

What if Joe Burrow doesn’t break his hand during a routine practice in August 2017? He likely doesn’t lose the backup QB spot to Dwayne Haskins.

Cecil, Randy Livingston doesn’t get hurt a second time, Chris Jackson stays for junior year, we got rid off Saint Miriam and Bo and had Bamas compliance people last 15 years, the Jeffersons only had one son, Joe A let’s us play Mcneese, LF has another 200 yards and gets invite to nyc...

No kidding. We don’t get Saban. Brees doesn’t come to the Saints. Football in LA would still be all about high school mostly. Crazy.

Page 2 and this hasn’t been mentioned?
What if there had been a 3- pt line when Pistol Pete played?

What if Pat White had not broken his hand against Pitt in 2007? Ohio State plays West Virginia and not LSU. How long does Les last?

If you watched that game, there were very obvious calls going for WVU and they STILL couldn't win it. It was sad and hilarious at the same time.
Reminds me of watching Bama games, except they usually win them after that type of favoritism.

Nope. He sprained it in fall camp before the season started

If Eric Walker would not have got hurt in the 2017 CWS we would have probably beat Florida for the National Championship

LSU got screwed that game on the bogus call on AJ Duhe. If not for that we would have won

A technical foul being called on Bobby Knight for slamming the phone on the scorers table wouldn't have hurt either. Any other coach in the country would have gotten T'd up.
