If that happened maybe the Dolphins HC takes Brees over Culpepper and the Saints continue to challenge the Browns for the worst franchise in the NFL.

As much as I love the Saints, I will take LSU’s success over Saints’ success everyday, without hesitation.

I had not heard of Bo Rein until this post. What a tragedy. This has to be the biggest “what if?”

The man was only 34 years old

There is an SEC Storied called the Bo You Didn’t Know which is excellent. Prior to watching I didn’t realize he was a contemporary of Jimmy Johnson under Broyles at Arky

What if Drew Brees goes to Miami and plays for Saban and the Dolphins.

Saban never goes to Bama so LSU wins multiple championships but Saints don’t win the superbowl.

This would also mean it would be the San Antonio Saints today !

what if Bobby Knight does not slam down that phone in '87 - LSU wins that national championship in the Superdome

What if Drew Brees goes to Miami and Nick Saban stayed at Miami. LSU would have won at least one more National Championship, if not several, and Les Miles would still be the coach. In a way, the Saints’s success drained success from LSU.

ETA: Just saw this was already posted. My bad.

It wasn't that he DID slam the phone; it was that he slammed the phone down and berated the officials, and got away with it without getting a technical called on him.

If he got the technical called and we made the foul shots, that would have been enough to win that game on go on to the Final Four.

And knowing Dale Brown's record in tournaments and two previous Final Fours, I doubt that means we automatically "win the Championship".

How so? The Saints played some games in San Antonio in 2005 right after Katrina. By the time the start of the 2006 season rolled around, Sean Payton had been hired as coach, ownership became committed to New Orleans with a full return to the dome, and for the 1st time ever, the season was sold out and there was a waiting list for season tickets.

None of that was contingent on Drew Brees coming here or playing here. Aaron Brooks would have been replaced with somebody else, maybe not someone at the same level as Brees, but definitely someone different than (and likely better than) Aaron Brooks.

Knight doing that and getting away with it also fired up his team that i think was down by 10 pts with 5 min left - they won by 1 pt and we missed the winning shot under the basket with a second or two left. Indiana instead of LSU goes on to New Orleans and wins it all
