I believe Jobert is gone too but aint nobody at LSU telling him to walk which is what your post insinuates...

Maybe his family or an agent doing so

Had TJ in mid-late April, if he were to pitch at all next year it wouldnt come till about like SECT time/postseason in general which at that point might as well take the redshirt in most cases unless he feels great.

1. Kling (R)- CF
2. Nippolt (L)- SS
3. White (R)- 3B
4. Jones (R)- 1B
5. Pearson (L)- LF
6. Neal (L)- C
7. Frey (R)/Dale (L)- DH
8. Braswell (R)/Reaves (L)- 2B
9. Larson (L)- RF

SP - Hurd, Loer, and one of Ackenhausen/Herring
RP - Guidry and Taylor

the 2024 team is going to need Kling to do a high percentage of a facsimile of Crews. No one expects him to duplicate, and be POY, top 3 overall draft pick, but given he will be a draft-eligible sophomore, a season that is say 83% of what Crews delivered would be nice. Also need Jones to hit breaking balls. If he makes that adjustment to his game, he is primed for a monster season in also his draft-eligible sophomore season. White staying healthy will be important as well.

At pitcher, I'm assuming the following will not pitch for LSU either because of signing/draft or injury: Cooper, Ack, Taylor, Edwards, Noot and Shores.
That leaves Hurd as a definite Friday or Saturday starter, Herring in the Cooper role and Lohr in the Ack role. I'm hopeful one or both of the freshman lefties, Anderson and Brown assume the Herring role in long relief. That clearly means a portal weekend starter (or 2) are needed. I'm hopeful Burns is one of those guys, in which case he and Hurd are your clear Friday/Saturday guys. You'd have Lohr and Herring as potential Sunday starters, but another power righty via the portal would be ideal. Recall Skenes was a late portal entry and didn't commit to LSU until the end of July.

Zero chance Travinski is back to be the 2nd or 3rd catcher or DH, unless he has no pro ball ambitions.

That’s just idiotic. If he’s drafted later than expected and isn’t a priority to get signed by the team that drafts him, of course he may come back. I don’t expect him back, but it wouldn’t be crazy if he did come back feeling like he could improve his stock by becoming at least a serviceable defender behind the plate.

Noot got hurt before the season.

Do you think there’s a chance he comes back at least midway through the season next year, even if it’s only in a short relief role?

I dont have info to the contrary but you are saying we pulled this guys scholarship... Man, thats a tough place to play.

From Jobert's LSU Bio

"2022 Season
Played in 59 games (57 starts), batting .246 (49-for-199) with 10 doubles, one triple, 18 homers, 58 RBI and 46 runs … started 48 games at designated hitter and nine games in right field … finished second on the LSU team behind Dylan Crews in homers and RBI … Jobert finished No. 9 in the SEC in homers with his 18 dingers … collected nine homers and 25 RBI in SEC regular-season games … named SEC Player of the Week on May 23 after hitting .500 (8-for-16) in four games with one double, one triple, five homers and 13 RBI"

Jay will get another SS candidate and OF imo. The Louisiana kid at Az St has been linked but he’s a very average fielder

We know Bama ace is likely coming and I doubt we’re done at P

While I know he plays infield too, you think JJ will let him double dip like that?
